13. The Elemetarium

The rest of the day was spent preparing for battle. Our 'army' had three pistols, that's it. We made spears and arrows from hard oak wood for the rest. Houglas took mine and Stella's Monsters for a lesson of fighting. Except the Komocat. He was still wild and uncontrollable. Tried to bite my hand off when I let him out.

They returned three hours later, totally exhausted. Went back into the Monstagram gladly. After I gave them some food of course. We had four archers, each with solid aim. They all carried a quiver with fifteen arrows. It took about an hour to fill just one quiver.

"Listen up." Houglas says when it was starting to go dark outside. The day has gone by slowly and miserably. Not a single joke or smile was said today. Every minute I spent cursing Dr Viktor and his Gradies. I hated the loss of Bolt. We were going to get him back. Tomorrow.

"Dr Viktor experimented on himself, turning himself into a Monster. He is a hybrid actually. The DNA of Thundhare, Thorder, Tempest and Griffex are coursing inside of him. All these innocent Monsters have died for his ruthless experiments. Tomorrow, we'll put a stop to this. Who's with me?!" Everyone cheered.

I thought I wouldn't get to sleep, but surprisingly, I have. I dreamt of Bolt and I defeating a large crab like Monster, saving Stella from its clutches. She was gonna kiss me, but I woke up. Balls.

It takes an hour for all 31 members of our group to pack up all the one-man tents, ready the weapons and prepare ourselves for battle. Twenty three men from Faijir were actually the people who escaped Gale when the Gradies attacked, destroying the hometown. Many of them were here seeking revenge. The other four were men that were simply excited for an adventure. And I gotta say, I've felt some excitement myself. "We're coming, Bolt." I mutter under my breath. "We're coming to save you. We're coming."

"Our best bet to defeat Viktor is by destroying the Power Helm. It's a large, saucer shaped metal head-wear pinned to his head. It sends millions of thunderbolts into Viktor's body, charging him with unlimited energy. We can destroy it if we can break off the four antennae on the helm. In order to do that, we have to break them off by hand. Of course, if you touch one of those antennae, you will be blasted to death. It is only safe with this pair of lightning resistant gloves. The problem is, we only have one pair."

"Everyone ready?" Houglas asks, and we all shout yes with anticipation. "Anyone wants to leave, this is their final chance to do so." I smile as no one does. There were no cowards in this group. Houglas comes to me, and hands me the gloves. They were made from some kind of foreign material, rough on the outside, soft on the inside. They were black coloured and the back end reached almost to my elbows.

We set off. The sun was just rising from behind the Zarachia Mountains behind us. As we walk, the lab slowly comes to view. It was giant, stretching back for meters. Nothing as I first imagined. The main section in the middle of the white marble building was spherical, its diameter at least twenty meters. It had multiple tunnels leading from it to other box shaped rooms. I smirk as I see the label above the doors. 'My lab.' It said.

"Everyone get your weapons ready! There's bound to be guards around." O'ssley said. My eyes keep scanning the building and ground for any movement, left to right. And then, when we're only about ten meters in front of the entrance, the Gradies appear.

Two of them. They jumped through the windows of the sphere room, landing on their feet, staring right at us. "There they are!" Someone shouted. Houglas appeared behind us, shouting at me and Stella."Shay. Run. It's up to you to destroy the Power Helm. Stella, go with him!" And so we run. Flashes of fire, lightning and mounds of earth fly behind us. The battle has begun. No time to look if anyone's hurt. Leaving our Monsters outside to fight, we enter the lab.
