I practically ran to the gym in hopes of pairing with Stephanie first. Thankfully, werewolf speed allowed me to get to the locker room and change before anyone else. I sat on the bleachers and waited nervously in the empty gymnasium, my leg shaking impatiently. I was going to do it. I was going to make Ryder jealous and kick his ass at volleyball. I remember Ryder saying something about wolves being territorial of their mates so it's perfect. I can't wait to see his stupid face. This plan couldn't possibly fail! 'This is a bad idea,' Alfred warned. I rolled my eyes. This was totally going to work. The gym teacher, Coach Gibbs, walked in with a couple volleyballs. With narrow eyes, she looked at me suspiciously. I simply winked at her and she scowled even though I could hear her increased heart rate. I chuckled under my breath. Someone's a cougar. Anyway, the sound of multiple voices grew louder as my class mates finally appeared. Scanning the room, my eyes spotted Ryder, who was looking for me, and Stephanie, who was talking with her friends. With a fake smile, I walked up to my target. Hopefully, she doesn't know about Ryder and me.

"Hey Steph, can I talk to you?" I asked quietly.

She stopped talking and turned to me, her smile hardened, "Sure what's up?"

I waited until her friends left to initiate my scheme, "I was wondering if a beautiful and intelligent girl like you would let a guy like me be on her team?"

"What's the catch? You've never asked before so why the sudden interest?" She intrigued.

"No catch. I just think we'd make a good team, and I may or may not have been too shy before, but this was kind of my excuse to get to talk to you."

She smirked, "Yeah right, like a bad boy like you could get shy."

"It happens from time to time, especially in front of such a pretty girl." I lied, giving her a wide grin.

"Aren't you...well, ya know?" She whispered. So that meant she did know, great.

"Yeah..." I admitted in defeat.

"Then why-" She started to question before I interrupted her.

"Look I just need your help with something, ok?" I muttered to her.

She nodded and I began to very quietly explain the plan.

She smiled and agreed to help, saying it could be a lot of fun. I smiled back, getting closer to her. She placed a hand on my arm, laughing as if I said something funny. I continued to "flirt" with her until I heard a low growl. My eyes travelled to the source, finding Ryder glaring at Stephanie. His eyes flashed yellow and his teeth sharpened a little. He looked utterly pissed, good. She placed a hand on my chest and Ryder's growl grew louder. It was then that I noticed Dirk holding him back. He looked at me, pleading for me to step away from Steph. I didn't know what compelled me to do it but I backed away from her. She tilted her head in confusion but I simply smiled reassuringly. Coach Gibbs blew her whistle, ordering us to sit on the bleachers. She stared at us with her usual judgmental look before speaking.

"Alright pansies, we are playing volleyball. Now, volleyball is not just a sport, it's an art form. So let's start this game out right, yeah?" We all stayed silent with bored expressions. None of us really cared about what she had to say.

Most is us just wanted to get this class over with.

With a drawn out sigh, she continued, "Alright the team captains are Stephanie Mayer and Greg Ford"
