Ninjago: This is Only the Beginning

Kai's POV

We would fight for days it seemed like. Each day the White Warrior pointed out something I did wrong, or say that I'm too reckless. Each day I begin to see more and more of him reminding me of someone.

Someone that I use to know, someone that was taken from me....

I sat down on the wooden porch by my living quarters. I sat there, and thought hard about everything. They way he moved, the way he talked, they way his blue eyes....

Wait!

I shot up from the porch and placed my hands on my head. " Everything about that man, it has to be!" I yelled. " Zane's alive!!!!!!"

Zane's POV

I looked at Kai from above in the shadows, and my heart broke....

*So he knows?* Kori growled, appearing next to me. I nodded my head.

" He is wrong though.." I looked at my hands, and as I unwrapped my wrappings; my hands began to look transparent. " I am just as dead, as I look alive..." I whispered.

*Kai's knowledge of you, marks the near end of your presence..Now is the time to finish what you have started.* she growled sternly, looking down at the distance.

I nodded my head, and then closed my eyes. " I do not want to say goodbye to another brother, but this is their world..not mine...not anymore.."

The moon began to uncover itself from the clouds, and it was not just any moon....it was the full moon....Now I know this is my last night with Kai, and this night would prove that he is ready to move on.

I looked at the snow leopard next to me, and nodded. We both know this is it, and now I will prepare to fight Kai with every bit of my strength!

Kai's POV

I got my gear on, and as I went to go grab my ninja mask...I saw it...There hanging on the wall was the photo, the one we took after we defeated the Overlord, the first time that is....

" Don't worry buddy, I'm going to get you back." I smirked, referring to Zane, who's eyes were closed, in the picture.

" Are you so sure?"

I turned around. " Hello?" I called out, putting on my mask. There was no answer.... " What do you want, voice?" I asked again.

This time there was something. " It is what you want.." the voice appeared again...I began to walk towards the voice, but then suddenly someone appeared from the shadows. Once the light had appeared, my jaw dropped. " Za---Zane!"

A silver haired boy dressed in white appeared in front of me. His bright blue eyes glowed into my heart. " Hello, brother.." he smiled.

My heart exploded, I didn't...I didn't know what to say! I mean he was right there, back from the dead! " How, you're alive!" I gasped. " You're back!"

Zane's eyes soften, and seemed sadden. He shook his head, and frowned. " I am sorry brother, I am still dead..I am afraid I cannot return like the last time.." he whispered, in his real voice.

" Then how are you here?" I asked, the joy slowly disappearing.

" Kori, my spirit animal...she came to me, and gave me a chance to say goodbye, but also lead me towards my final resting place....To do that I must tie loose ends that I have left among you.." he stated.

I looked down..." So that's why you came to me...That's what you meant by letting my sadness control me..I'm the person you needed to save..."

Zane nodded his head. " I came to you as an opponent, a warrior, a master...hopefully to help you begin your path back to being a ninja.."
