Being in computer class has been a good experience so far. I have learned a bit like how to take the computer apart and the names of the computer parts. Every week someone talks about the computer parts to the class. Then we take turns disassembling and reassembling a computer. Also, we sometimes research new technology and talk about it to the class. What we do is find something that has been created in 2012 and find out a few things about it.
I recently did a powerpoint on "What is system software?" So it was interesting to know that system software is what makes it possible for me to use applications, on the computer, or the the stuff like Microsoft Word. Also, it allows you to play games.
We went over some questions about basic things we should know. Like: should we use a computer during a storm? No, there is a big risk of being shocked. It is always good to go over the basics.
This week we have wrote an essay on internet safety. It didn't take long to pack it full of information. I wrote about tips on how to be safe. We got to do a poster on this class. It was just a simple poster, but it was on something we think we should let the rest of school know about computers. My partner and I, did the poster on internet safety. It's something we recently went over and it is something everyone needs to know.
I wonder want the next great invention will be? Also, does technology have a limit? Will humans find the maximum potential for technology or will it keep advancing? Right now we are learning how to clear up unnecessary data on our hard drive.
Preventive maintenance is a very big part of taking care of a computer. If you do not clean your computer every so often, the computer will get overrun with dust and heat will be locked in on the computer parts, damaging them. Everyone who owns a computer should know how to clean it and have a regular schedule to clean it.
We are doing a poster on another country. I picked Switzerland and we have to tell all about the country, the biggest part of it is that we have to find a technology that was created in that country.
