I woke up to the sound of a blaring telephone. I slowly reached over and picked up my cell.

"Who is this?" I asked groggily.

"Artemis, I need to speak with you, now, in person!" her voice was urgent.

I met Artemis at the bottom of the staircase.

"Somebody new moved in!" Artemis was jumping up and down.

"Why was this so important?" I questioned her thinking back to the call and the urgency in her voice.

"Well, she's from some rich place and she seems very smart. Maybe she can help me get into college." Artemis was smiling hugely. Artemis and I were on our senior year of high school, both of us trying to get into Yale. I had the grades, she didn't. Piper who was in Harvard was helping me study and earn money, even though I had a scholarship. Piper was currently on Winter Break from Harvard. She was staying in the one bedroom apartment across from me. I did not know what danger she was in then.

I was sleeping when Artemis called me again. This time she went straight to the facts. Piper had been killed, and her identity stolen. Piper did not usually mention it but she was rich, probably the richest person I know. All this money supposedly came from her parents when they died. Piper was everyone's friend. Everyone looked up to Piper. She was never mean. Piper with her dark brown hair and green eyes. It makes me want to cry just thinking about it. Anyway, back to the story, Artemis told me over the phone and I couldn't believe it. How could Piper have been killed silently across the hall from me?

Today all of Piper's friends met at the large park we used to play in as children. The name plate was spray painted over when I arrived. There standing in the middle of the playground was Artemis; we were the first people there. Soon after me Alexander, a short version of Snape from Harry Potter, arrived. I already suspected him. Following him were two people I had never seen before, a short blonde and her supposed brother with brown hair. Artemis introduced everyone. Artemis was Piper's best friend and like Piper in the way that she knew everyone. She had set this meeting up. We all sat down in a circle of small stone benches, which were made for kids, so everyone got their own bench. Except for Ellen, the new girl, she seemed to do everything with an awkward smile and her brother at her side. Percy, the brother seemed to want to stay away from Ellen. Artemis said that Ellen sent off a bad aura, the outer shell of people that glows when their emotions change. Percy also seemed anxious to go back to where he came from, New York, with or without his sister. Artemis told me that Ellen was kind of rich but she spent her money wisely, like Piper. An unusual gap was created without Piper present. We all talked about how nice Piper was and how tragic the incidence was. I was one of the main witnesses, being across the hall from Piper.

We contacted the police of our small town in Louisiana and they say that Piper died of natural causes. We all know that she didn't. Piper couldn't have died from natural causes. She was perfectly healthy when she arrived here. I have three answers for Piper's death, 1. Poison, 2. Food poisoning, 3. Murder.

Today we, meaning Artemis and I, are going to question our suspects. Our first suspect was Alexander. Alex never planned on going to college but suddenly he was all about it. The mysterious thing was that he wasn't saving up money. He didn't have a college fund; he actually didn't have anything to back him up even if he was accepted into a college. This seemed suspicious. We went up to Alexander's house. He lived with his parents in a small house by the lake. Alone and Isolated. We rang the doorbell only to get answered by Alexander himself
