"I am so sorry," The man said with a slight sadness in his voice, "I wish I could help you."
"No it's completely fine. I was just hoping maybe I wasn't given the wrong number again," a woman tries to explain why she is upset.
"Ahh... That happened to me just last week it's getting out of control."
"I know it has happened to me at least four times in the last two months!"
"Do you go on a lot of dates," The man asks seriously curious, the women somehow intrigues him.
"No I am just a social butterfly and enjoy meeting people. My friends always make fun of people because everyone I happen to meet is a male but what can I say... I am attracted to them," The woman says with a light feathery laugh.
"What is your name," The man asks, "If that isn't too weird to ask since we have literally only talked for a minute."
"I'll tell you mine if you tell me yours," The woman teases.
"Okay, on the count of three," The man starts, "One.....two....three"
"Olivia Bree"
"Max Dunham," The two say at the same time.
"Max...I had a dog named Max growing up, he hated me," Olivia says.
"Well I don't know you very well but I can say that I don't hate you," Max says.
"Why thank you I really appreciate that. It helps having one less person in the world that doesn't hate me," Olivia says.
"Do a lot of people not like you," Max asks.hoping Olivia doesn't hang up.
"Well I wouldn't say a lot of people but because I am so bubbly and happy a lot of people think I am a fake," Olivia says, "What about you?"
"Oh me? I am a complete loner," Max jokes, "I am 24 and I am still living in my mom's basement."
"That sounds...boring," Olivia says secretly hoping Max is joking.
"Don't worry I have my own place. I can't say a lot of people like me though, I come across as stern."
"Well why is that," Olivia asks.
"I don't know I guess I just have a mean resting face that makes me seem unapproachable."
"In high school I had a teacher like that...he actually turned out be really nice. I have a feeling that is the case with you."
"I think your right. I have been talking to you for and you don't seem to scared of me yet...progress."
"Well since you asked me a personal question I guess it is my turn to ask you one."
"Go ahead."
"What do you do for a living?" Olivia asks.
"I am a cop." Max answers.
"Really! That is so cool! Do you do like stake outs and all that fun stuff?"
"Haha I wish, no I just started so I am just the desk cop for now."
"You'll get there! I know who to call if I ever get in trouble though!"
"I'll put in a good word for you," Max says he always dreads talking about his job, "What about you?"
"Oh I work at a boring law firm. I am not a lawyer or anything I just file all the papers," Olivia says with a sigh.
"Look at us both doing paper work. How cool is that," Max exclaims.
"Yeah at least I know someone who understands the struggle of constant paper cuts," Olivia jokes.
"I feel you I go through so many band aids it isn't funny." Max sympathizes.
"Talking about work, I have to get back I was just on my lunch break. It was really nice getting to talk to you. This conversation turned out better than I thought it would," Olivia says sadly.
"Yeah me too! Hey... can I text you or call you again sometime," Max asks hoping the woman with the prettiest voice he has ever heard agrees.
"Totally! Save me in you phone as something sexy will ya," Olivia playfully says.
"I will do that! Goodbye!" Max says then hangs up.
