Chapter 4: A Death and a Rebirth

                Kenpachi POV

We had made it back to the office, it bothered me how quiet she was the walk here. I sat behind my desk as she sat in front of me, Ikkaku was still on the couch. "This stops now Arashi, no more going out to drink. You're neglecting your duties as a 4th seat and drinking won't solve your problems." She looked at me as shock painted her face, apparently she must have thought I'd never figure out. "How did you?..." I held up my hand to silence her, I was gonna put a stop to this. "It doesn't matter how. I don't want you drinking anymore period, you need to find a new outlet." I watched her look away, she wasn't making this easy. "I'm stripping you of your seat, I want you to train for a bit. When I think you're ready you can fight me and I'll give you your seat back if I think you deserve it. Rules are simple, you don't leave squad 11 without an escort and you are no longer allowed to drink. Break these rules and you will be permanently stripped of your seat."

               Arashi POV

My jaw dropped, part of me knew he was right but that isn't fair! ' It's for the best kid, all you can do is accept it.' I did as Oni said and simply nodded my head, we sat in silence as I kept my head down. "I'm going for a walk." I heard my father's voice behind me, glancing over I watched my father walk out. "Kuchiki is gonna handle Renji and Rukia, we are doing this because we care for you. Squad 11 is a family, we may be dysfunctional but we take care of our own." I gave a slight nod before taking a deep breath, I was starting to sober up and a headache was setting in. "Go ahead and nap in here kid, if what I've heard is right you're gonna have a hangover from hell." I smiled some and nodded before moving to lay on the couch, it felt nice to know he cares. "Thank you Zaraki Taicho"

                  Kenpachi POV

I relaxed some as her breathing evened out, this kid was a handful but she has heart. Only problem was now that heart is broken, she needs us now more than ever. The door opening caught my attention, looking over I see Yachiru come running into the room. "Is Shi-shi ok?" I smiled some, she and Arashi had been close since she got here. "Yeah, she's taking a nap right now." I watched her face light up, to my surprise she crawled onto the couch with Arashi and cuddled up to her. I approached the two and lay my haori over them, Yachiru quickly dozing off. They are the princesses of squad 11, I plan to protect them.

                  Ikkaku POV

I found myself in the squad 6 court yard, out front I can see Renji sweeping the porch. "Hey Abarai, I got a bone to pick with you!" I flash stepped to less than a foot in front of him, quickly grabbing the front of his shihakushō and pulling him forward. "Y-yes Ikkaku?" I could tell he was nervous, he never had been able to beat me in a fight. "I don't appreciate what you did to my baby, cheating on her like that was a dirty thing. Now after watching her destroy herself because of you I want to make something clear, I don't want you to so much step foot in squad 11. You made a bad mistake and once the boys catch wind squad 11 will be a no man's land for you, also I don't want you to so much as look as my daughter let alone talk to her. Unless she speaks to you first you better avoid her like she's the plague, are we clear pineapple?" I growled as I watched him nod quickly, dropping him I turn to go back to my squad. I was tired and I wanted to check on Arashi, in the beginning I may not have wanted her but over the years I've grown to love her. She is my baby girl and I'll be damned if I let this happen again.
