There once was a girl named Arabella. Growing up she despised herself because she was bullied all of her life. She believed people's mocking words, she didn't know her worth, as far as she knew she had none. She was constantly there for people, even after being betrayed, and even after not once having a hand to hold when she needed it.
When she lost her mother and her older sister during a head-on collision, her sister died on the scene, her body wasn't found. Arabella's mother died an hour later, after Arabella and her father said their goodbyes. She blamed herself, and her father did too. That day marked the start of constant abuse. Physically, mentally, and emotionally. If her father didn't do it, someone else would. But, like I said the Arabella that once existed, is no longer here, she's gone.
• 8 years later •
When her father died a year ago,due to liver cancer, she didn't shed a tear because of his death, but rather because of what he put her and her brother through. Arabella had enough, she would no longer bow her head in shame because she wasn't enough in everyone else's eyes, because she was enough in her own. In every aspect she was enough, she was enough as a sister who had to raise a sibling on her own, enough as a student, at the top of her class. She was enough as Ara Castillo, and she hoped she would be enough as a mate. If the moon goddess blessed her to have one. And if not, she'd love herself the way her father never could.
