"Well Nanette, you have a very impressive resume and we would be delighted to have you come aboard." The deep voice on the other end of the phone seemed to be genuine. I was scribbling down the details for the first day of training when a piercing cry on the other end of the phone caused me to drop it. "I do apologize about that, kids love to keep you on your toes." I gave a small chuckle and thanked Mr. Rogers for the information then hung up.

The hair on the back of my neck and the weight of the bowling ball in my stomach slowly eased as I shook off the feeling of the screech. I called Louise and Rochelle to hear their giggles and plans to celebrate the new job. As the day ticked by I slowly grew more uneasy with the thought of that sound running through my head. Slipping on a tight grey dress we headed out to have a hell of a good time.

Too many drinks in and our dancing was worse than we thought it was, after a fumble with a complete stranger I excused myself to sit at the bar and drink some water. The feeling of uneasy came back ten fold and my head turned just to be held by a pair of bright emerald green eyes. My gasp was involuntary and I tried to break our stare.

The bartender sliding my drink to me was the chance I needed to look away. From the corner of my eye the memorizing eyes were gone. "This is our song!" Rochelle screamed as she drug me to the dance at the sound of bad girlfriend. The night was lost to the blur of drunks and music pumping, and with it the eyes of emerald green.
