"You seem bothered since our last class," Katie bumped her shoulder on mine which made me back to my senses.

"I'm sorry. What were you saying?" I asked. School's finish and we are now on our way to exit the school gate. My mind's been bothered by the guy at the cafeteria earlier. I've been distracted the whole day because of him.

She rolled her eyes and averted her gaze in front. "Nothing."

"Katie?" I call her attention as we walk.

"Hmm?"

"Have you experienced meeting a person for the first time but you feel like you've already know that person a long time ago?"

"No... Why do you ask?" She looks at me. I look at her as well and was not able to stop myself from creasing my eyebrows from too much thinking.

"What's with the look, Em?" she laughs. "Oh my God! Don't tell me you've been thinking about the guy at the cafeteria earlier??"

I remained silent and looks ahead again. I continued walking.

"I'm right!" she excitedly clap her hands and followed me. "Well, I can't blame you on why you can't get him off your head. I mean, the guy's hot."

"That's not what I mean with my question," I protested.

"Well, that's how I interpret it," she teases me as she wiggle her eyebrows. "And speaking of the hot guy. He's at the gate... and he's staring at our direction."

My eyes immediately searched for the guy. He's at the school gate, leaning his back at the wall. And as what Katie said, he's staring at our direction.

"Seems like he's waiting for you," Katie teasingly said.

It can't be. Why will he wait for me? We don't even know each other. Oh no! Is it because I interfered with their fight earlier? Is he going to punch me as well?

I made my steps faster as I think of murderous things he might do to me. I avoided eye contact with him as much as possible.

"Hey, wait up," Katie catches up.

"Emily," his deep voice called my name and it made me stop and look at him.

"How did you know my name?" I asked.

"Let's talk," he said and grabbed my hand but Katie immediately pulled me from him.

"Hold your horses, dude! I know you're hot but I can't let you take Em unless I know your reason," Katie said as she stands in front of me.

The guy did not bother looking at Katie. His eyes are fixed on mine. "Emily, it's me." He softly said.

Emily...

The way he calls my name sounds and feels so familiar. The way he says it feels so right.

"Ms. Grey," I look at where the voice came from and saw our family driver. "Ready to go?"

"Yeah. Just a minute," I told him and he gave me a smile. I look at the guy again and he is now walking away.

"That's weird," Katie said as both of us focus on the retreating back of the guy. "He wants to talk to you and suddenly walks away. Odd..."

There are a lot of questions going on inside my mind. Why does he know my name? What does he want to talk about? Why did he suddenly walk away when my driver arrived? Who is he, really?

"Ms. Grey?"

"Yes, I'm coming," I look at Katie and she is still staring at the guy.

"I'll get going now. Want me to give you a ride?" I ask.
