I was just closing up the cafe at around 7 pm when I heard the impatient honks of a car behind me, "Jaxon, hurry it up! We gotta get going!" I sigh and turn around to the fancy Cadillac waiting for me. I knew we were going to the club tonight, so I had changed into a simple black suit before closing up shop.
"I'm coming, Xavier!" I spoke loudly to my friend, slipping the keys into my pocket and walking to the passenger side. As I climbed in, Xavier grinned at me, "Looking good, man, like you're ready to get some ass." I groan, "Xavier."
"I'm kidding, I'm kidding. Come on, or else we'll miss the scene." He laughed before pulling out of the parking lot and speeding down the street.
Music played softly in the background, and Xavier spoke, "Do you feel confident about finding someone?" I shrugged, "Not really. It's only the same people who were there last time, and the time before that. " He looked at me, with a mischievous grin, "We'll see about that."
"Someone new, doing a scene? King's Coven doesn't-." I muttered, only to be interrupted by snickering, "You're the last person who can talk about how the club operates."
I roll my eyes, and stare out the window, "Whatever. You know you and the others are gonna ditch me for some random piece of ass again, so why am I even going?"
"Because I'm not interested in being tied down by a relationship, Jax. You're the one itching t have a weight tied to you." He laughed, "Or maybe I'm just a slut."
"That's the truest thing you've said since I got into this car." I deadpanned, but couldn't help but laugh as my best friend feigned hurt. I was just glad we were done with the previous topic of conversation.
Xavier pulled up to the King's Coven and the two of us got out and headed for the door. The bouncer looked at us, then grinned, "Welcome back, boys." Xavier grinned, "Good to be back."
I simply smiled and waited for the two to finish their small talk. The bouncer opened the door for us, and we entered. Walking past the table where subs can pick up wristbands, we headed to our usual spots at the row of chairs that were at the foot of the large stage.
Francisco and Grant were already there and taking shots when we walked up, and they stood to greet us.
"Hey, Xavier! I'm surprised that dough-boy came with ya!" Exclaimed Grant, obvious a little more than tipsy. I rolled my eyes playfully, "Shut up, Grant." We laughed and Francisco patted my shoulder, "Looking sharp, dough-boy."
We all sat down, and I ordered bottles of beer for all of us. I sipped mine tentatively, feeling the eyes of many crawling up my back and tickling my throat. I ignored it and tried to focus on the enthusiastic musings of my drunk friends.

I'm alone.
By the time I was halfway through my second beer, Xavier and Grant had been abducted by the leather-clad boys looking for a bit of fun, while Francisco was found my his Mistress, Aimee. Xavier left me his keys, saying I can drive myself back to my shop. I pushed the cool bottle away from myself, and politely refused the offer for another selection.
I swiveled the bar chair I sat on, looking out to the ocean of risque dancers and their delighted guests. The music pounded in my ears, and I let out a breath of irritation... no, nervousness? Maybe both. I ran a hand through my hair, and a high-pitched voice pierced my skull.
