Numbers Never End

Chapter 2

- Hinata's P.O.V - 

I've been caught, Kageyama confronted me about me sleeping of the couch. Please don't let him know about my cuts or how I cut. I'm not ready to tell people, but I'll never will.

"Oi, dumb ass Hinata!" Kageyama cam up to me while I was eating breakfast, "Whats wrong, I noticed that you haven't been sleeping in your bed... Did I do something to hurt your feelings?"

"I-I'm fine Kageyama! You did nothing!" I smiled hiding my arms behind my back, even though I was wearing my grey sweatshirt.

"Hinata, you better not lie to me, are we not family?" Kageyama looked at me, and I instantly felt guilty, we were family, not by blood but by compassion.

"I-I just thought that you have been sleeping alone for so long, even before I came here so I though I should just leave you be!" I smiled, though my eyes didn't shine like they used to.

Kageyama seemed skeptical at first but then shrugged.

"Yo! We're going to the library to meet up with some friends! You guys wanna come with?" Tanaka came running into the kitchen, "Everyone is going!"

"Sure, I'll go, just let me go grab my phone. What about you Hinata, you wanna come?" Kageyama looked at me.

"No thank you, I still have to take a shower, plus I have to finish an essay." I smiled even though I lied.

"Suit yourself." Kageyama shrugged then left and came back as quickly as he left.

"We'll be back soon! Maybe midnight considering it's already 7 o' clock. So don't wait up for us!" Sugacalled out before shutting the door, leaving alone in the house.

I did the exact opposite, with four fresh cuts, two on my right arm and two on my left. I stayed up past midnight, letting the sound of the television flood my ears. I wasn't watching it, I just needed background noise as I pressed down on my fresh cuts in attempt to make the voices stop.

"We're back!" Noya opened the door and yelled, "We brought our friend to!"

"Noya hush! It's 12:13, Hinata might be asleep!" Suga attempted to quiet Noya down.

Asleep...? Let's just go with that. Quickly, I curled up in a ball hiding my wrist and closed my eyes. Though I doubt that I'll actually fall asleep with the voices.

"As you said Suga, it's 12:13, and if Hinata is asleep, I bet he's asleep like a light! Sleeping like a log!" Tanaka laughed and I heard a few more people join in.

'They're  laughing at you talking about how you annoying you are! How you should just die!'  The voices whispered yet they echoed. 

"I-I know! P-please stop telling me things I already know!" I willed myself not to yelled out, making it stay in my head. 

"Oya, Oya, Oya!" I think I found him!" I heard a new voice close to my ear, he must be bending down to look at me to see how ugly I was.

"You did? Good job Bukoto!" I heard Daichi walk into the living room, "Wow, he must actually be really tired, or he just collapsed from stress. To be honest I never seen Hinata asleep..." 

"See what did I tell you? I knew the shrimp was asleep!" I heard Noya yell in the background.

Taking this opportunity to 'wake up', I stir slightly and open my eyes only to find everyone now crowded around me.

"Ah! Hinata, you're up! Did we wake you?" Suga looked at me with worried written all over his face, just like when my mother used to.

Shaking my head as I no I sat up, giving everyone a fake, yet bright smile.

"Now with that settled, do you guys have any good booze?"  The man called Bukoto asked Tanaka and Noya.

Like kids in a candy store their eyes lit up and they started to nod vigorously. Without a word they disappeared to grab the booze. Was it not late enough to be drinking...? But I guess that doesn't matter for people who are actually happy, unlike me.

A few shots later, Kageyama and I were the only ones not taking shots, though I was the only one sober considering Kageyama already had four bottles of beer.

Once they started to pass around a bottle of vodka I excused myself to my room, claiming I had a big day ahead of me and I need to get some rest.

So as I walked up the stairs, I felt light headed from not cleaning my cuts correctly. I had just let them bleed.

As soon as I sat down on my bed I burred my head in my hands and started to cry, from the stress, the voices inside my head. With my will to live being so small, I just want to die... 

"Oi, dumb ass Hinata!" Kageyama somewhat slurred, barging into our room, "Why do you always wear that grey sweatshirt? What are you hiding from us?" Kageyama took a step closed to me and leaned in.

"I-It's nothing Kageyama...!" I backed up against the wall, closing my eyes. Hating the stench of beer which was lingering on his breath.

"Don't lie to me!" Kageyama yelled then raised his fist to hit me, squeezing my eyes even tighter braising for impact to come, and it did.

After sitting there a few seconds I stood up and played with my razor which was in my pocket of my sweatshirt,  then I ran. I ran out of the room and to the front door, "I'm going on a walk! I'll be back in a hour!" I called out to no one particular and no one answered back. I guess no one really cares about me. Typical, I guess I can expect that from people who I don't know and who don't know me. Then I left, looking at the door behind me I locked it, not caring that I forgot my keys. I didn't plan on returning, I didn't want to be in a house surrounded by people who didn't care about me, though they faked it. And may I add they are very good at lying to someone right in there face... Kinda like me.
