The future is a crazy concept humanity has come to be aware of. We have control of our future, but we cannot predict or know what what'll happen in it. We as humans fear the unknown, we fear for what we cannot prepare for. Yet so many people have come to terms with that we only have ourselves; what we want to do in our future is up to us. Other worldly things can put it on hold but it really is up to us on how we want to handle situations. My own life has been spent dwelling and living in the past. As John F. Kennedy said, "Change is the law of life. And those who look only to the past or present are certain to miss the future." I strongly agree with what he said despite my own life style. The quote means that if we are to only worry about the past or present how are we to prepare and see what the future has in store for us. So I will take my time to see my future and to live for tomorrow instead of today.
Twenty or even thirty years from now I see myself as a thirty-seven to forty-seven year old making my career in Social Work. I've been wanting to help people for the longest time so in twenty years I'll be making my dream come true. By then I'll have graduated from Western Washington University or University of Washington. Social work has been part of my career choice since I've been a freshman, for the last 4 years I've been working and striving towards my goal, so for my future life, my twenty years from now, I see my life to be focused and drained from being a social worker. It's my life goal, the one goal I've sent that I'm now so close to achieving. So twenty years from now I'll have finally achieved my life goal.
What about relationships? Family? Well I'm not sure, I feel like my relationship with my mother will be good and strong, but I'm not sure about a partner or even children. That is the stuff that always leave me, I don't see a future in it. I know one day it may happen, but I don't see myself actually doing it. Relationships like that happen out of nowhere and spring up on you when you least expect it, so I honestly can't say I see a future like that.
