Young Mark MacCrimson sat on the deck of his little ship hanging his legs over the edge. Mercyless sun shone on the top of his bear head. Sometimes a tiny wave brushed over his toes. There was no waves, nor the tinyest sea breeze. He grunted and lied down. He was in the middle of the ocean but since there was no wind, he wasn't able to proceed the journey.
Mark was given an important mission: He was in the charge of bringing the future Queen Mary's tiara from his country all the way to a land far away, to the other side of the ocean. She was going to get married in few weeks, and here Mark was, drifting in the middle of the Aquador Ocean. He felt very useless being not able to do anything in weeks. He slowly fell asleep still lieing on the wooden deck of his ship.Mark woke up to the sound of a horrifying, evil laugh of a woman. He got up thinking if he had finally gone mad. He looked down into the water from the boat. He saw a dark shadow like figure fleeting to the other side of his boat creating a big wave that almost made Mark fall over. Frightened, but still curious Mark ran to see what it was. Suddenly something splashed saltwater at him. It couldn't have been a wave since it wasn't a "very" windy day. Mark fell over from the force the water hit him. He stared horrified at the slender figure that emerged from the ocean. A scary, yet beautiful creature with the upper half of a pale naked woman and the other half of a fish with dark turquoise scales stared back at him, laughing the horrifying laugh Mark had heard earlier. Young McCrimson crawled back and gripped onto the steering wheel of his ship scared for his life.
"Why is a young weakling, such as you sailing here? Don't you know, it's dangerous to sail the waters that belong to us..." The creature talked to him clearly enjoying his fright. Mark couldn't think clearly. "W-what are you!?" He stuttered. The creature laughed again staring right trough Mark with its ice blue eyes. "I am Yume, Yume the siren." Yume said swimming now closer to Mark. She pulled herself up on the boat and sat right next to Mark. "May I ask that same question, I have never come across something like you...", the siren whispered seductively into Mark's ear sounding genuinely interested now.
Mark just sat quietly on the boat. Yume grabbed his chin and brought Mark's face closer to hers. Mark noticed now, that Yume wasn't actually so scary as she first seemed to be, in fact she was quite beautiful.
"Please tell me, or I might have to drown you." The siren said smirking at him.Just before they kissed, Yume made a screeching noise, and something dragged her back underwater. Mark stood up frightened and pulled out his sword. Suddenly Yume appeared in front of him and grabbed the side of the boat. She looked at Mark. Her eyes were full of sorrow and pain. "Help.." Mark grabbed her ands and pulled her on the boat. Yume sobbed. Her tail was missing a big chunk of flesh. Mark inspected the wound. It was clearly a shark bite.
