Most fights don't end well, and most certainly, when in a fight, one must be aware of their surroundings.
She wasn't.
She rushed out of her best friend's house and slammed the front door, as her best friend followed behind to apologise for her mother's behaviour.
She ignored her. And she ignored the car speeding towards her. She only noticed it when it was too late.
The last thing she remembers hearing is her best friend's shriek and the tires of the car screeching as the driver tried to stop.
And then, she saw his eyes. No, not the driver's. Her savior's.
His chocolate brown eyes and his moppy black hair, as he jumped in front of the car and pulled her aside.
Up to this day, she still hasn't understood how a stranger could find the courage to save her. She definitely wouldn't have. She was too much of a coward in her mind.
Ever since that day, they were happy together.
She can't th think of a day they fought. She can't think of a moment they weren't together.
They lived in a small apartment in the town center and they loved it.
But she could always hear a girl crying at night. Only she could, no one else. She never saw a face, she only listened.
She never knew who the girl was, but of she ever found out, she would have loved to help.
And the months went by, and she was happier and happier. Walks in the park the beach and the mountain were no longer boring and ordinary. Visits at the zoo and museums had become more interesting.
Life was not just good, life was perfect. In fact, it wasn't perfect either. Perfection did not begin to describe it. Perfection wasn't even the tip if the iceberg.
She was truly happy. Happiness was no longer a privilege, it was her every day life.
But as the months went by, the sobbing and the crying became worse and worse at night. The girl cried more and more every night and made it unbearable for her. If only she knew what was wrong with the girl...
That girl sounded familiar. Her sobbing ringed a bell, but she couldn't quite put her finger on it. She couldn't match the crying with a person. But still, it broke her heart.
She tried to ignore it.
And every morning was a new start. Every day was better. Every day was happier. She and the boy that saved her were meant to be, there was no doubt. They were so happy together...
And the girl cried at night. More and more heartbreakingly every time. And she couldn't handle it. She couldn't stop it. It was eating her alive. She wanted to help.
But every morning, she seemed to forget. She was happy again. It was as if the girl didn't exist. She and her boy were together again, his face being the first thing she saw every morning and the last before she went to sleep at night.
If only it was his voice the last thing she heard at night too. All that sorrow and pain coming from the girl's sobbing, all that misery. It was killing her.
And one morning, something was wrong. One morning she didn't woke up to see her boy's face. She didn't see their small apartment at the town center.
She saw a hospital and she didn't understand.
She looked around for him, but all she saw was her best friend sleeping on a chair nearby.
She tried to think. What was wrong with her? Where was she? What had happened?
All these questions were driving her mad. She started to panic. Her best friend woke up.
There were tears of happiness in her best friend's eyes. The doctors soon came in and started examining her. Her best friend got out.
She asked what had happened.
She regretted it.
They told her she had been in a coma for a year. Her best friend was there every night, crying herself to sleep out of worry.
Realisation struck her. Her boy did not exist. Her perfect life was all a lie. Her happiness was just an idea.
Everything was just a dream.
She started crying.
The end
A/N: Heya peeps! Riri here. You weren't expecting me back so soon, were you?
This is a very short story I wrote for a project at school and I thought I could upload it here too.
I actually wrote it in Greek at first because it was for school, so it's not the same as the one I initially wrote.
I'm also writing the second Imyrth book as we speak, so... I'd better be going. Don't want that one to take 7 months too, do we?
Bye!!!
