They say, "Don't cut your wrists anymore."
You say, "okay."They check your wrists in a month,
They see no fresh cuts.
They say, "I'm so proud of you!"
They say, "I'm so happy you're better."
They say, "You make me so happy."
You don't talk, you just smile. But they didn't check your hips.
They didn't look into your eyes.
And they don't see how broken you are.
And they won't
Because you simply
Smile. And cut where they can't see.
So they will be happy because you're
"Happy."

A best friend nobody knew I had.
PoetryThis is a poem about my best friend. I'm the only one who knows these things about her. And I feel so sad that because of the so many problems she's been encountering, she just does not realize that I'm here for her. I will never leave her side.
