The Dragon Keeper (Terra)

Chapter 1

"Mom where's the ketchup?"Mark yelled up stairs to his mom.

Mark is an eleven year old boy, who has laight brown hair, blue eyes, he's 5ish feet, and was born in south korea where him and his mom left Mark's dad and moved to Iowa over ten years ago.

"Did you check in the fridge?"Mark's mom, Barbra yelled back to Mark.

"Yes!"Mark yelled again.

"Cuboard?"

"Yes!" Mark yelled anoyed. 

"Table?"

"Thanks Mom!" Mark sat at the table put ketchup on his hashbrowns and started eating waiting for Josh to show up. Josh is Mark's best freind, he's one of those types who gets in trouble alot but sticks up for you no matter what.

                                FEW MINUTES LATER.......

"DING-DONG" The door bell rand loudly all around the house.

"Bye Mom Josh is here!"Mark yelled while walking out of his house.

"Love you, bye." Barbra said she was now on the first floor so she didn't have to yell any more. 

"Hey Mark, where's your bike?" Josh asked.

"In the back, Can you go get it?"Mark asked."I'm Tired"

"It's your bike right?" Josh asked.

"Yes" Mark replied.

"Then you go get it"Josh said.

"Ok, be right back." Mark walked to his back-yard jumping on top of each stepping stone. When he got to his back-yard Mark got on his bike and rode as fast as he could to the front of his house. Pressing the brakes as hard as he could alomst flipping over from pressing the front brakes so hard, Mark still managed to say at the same time, " I'm ready!"

"Ok,"Josh said,"Lets go before we're late for school!"

After a while of Josh and Mark riding their bikes Mark noticed what time it was. "Josh It's 8:13 we're going to be late!" Mark said worried.

"Crap," Josh murmered,"Wait I know a shot cut it'll only take a minute"

"Ok,"Mark said calming down."Where is it?"

"Follow me," Josh replied.

A block away mark could see the shortcut, he stopped right away. "Im not going in there!" Mark said.

"Why?"Josh asked "You think it's haunted or somthing?"

"Yes!!" Mark said a little frittend.

"Awww is little Marky scared?" Josh teased.

"No!" Mark said angrly.

"Then lets go!"

"Uhhhhh!"

About half way on the shortcut Josh noticed a cave about 20 feet in the distance. "Mark look!" Josh said excitedly.

"Josh we have to keep going!" Mark said, "How much farther do we have to go?...Josh?...Josh!?" Mark said before turning around,"Josh, really!"

Josh had been running to the cave, he stopped right at the entrance, "Mark, come on!" Josh yelled.

"Wait!" Mark yelled back. But Josh was already running into the cave. Mark chased right after him.

"Josh!" Mark whispered. 

"Mark" a voice said.

"Josh is that you? Dont play with me you know I,m scared."

 "Come this way" the voice said. Mark turned around and followed the voice.

"Josh?" Mark said "Is that you seriusly?"

"Come this way" The voice said. When Mark turned around agiain he was in a room, in the middle of the room there was an egg with ancient symbols on it. "What the" Mark said confused,"Where am I?"

"Mark" whisperd a voice behind Mark" Mark turned around, there in front of Mark was a man,  a man that you could see right through. "G-gg-g-ghost!"Mark yelled choking."Josh?...Josh!? HELP!"Mark yelled now frightend as ever.

"Mark I hear you! Where are you?"Josh asked

"Its ok Mark" the ghost said.

"How do you know my name" Mark asked.

"I've been watching you"The ghost said

"WHAT!"

"Who are you talking to?" Josh asked.

"I'm your great great great great grandfather" The ghost said.

"Well that calmed me down alot" Mark said sarcasticly his heart still pumping 2 times a second. "wait how are you  here?"

"I'm your mentor Mark, here take this egg, and please don't be sarcastic with me I will kill you!" Mark's grand-father said.

"Why is it so heavy!?" Mark asked almost dropping the egg already.

"Its a dragon egg, keep it safe a war is coming" said Mark grandfather then he turned around and began to leave.

"Wait, Dont leave tell me, what war?" Mark asked.

"You will find out soon enough now go, hurry! I will see you again.." those where the mans last words.

Mark turned around  he saw a bright light when he walked into it him and Josh were outside no time had passed when they were in the cave. "Josh!" He yelled when he saw Josh.

"Mark where were you?" Josh asked.

"I dont know" Mark answered.

"Wasn't there a cave here?" Josh asked.

"Yeah, there was" Mark answered" Can you stop the questions so we can leave?" Mark asked

"We better hurry to school, there are 2 minutes left before we are late" Josh said.

 "Ok lets go." Mark said.

They both ran to thier bikes got on and began to ride to shool. riding as fast as they could Josh trying to compete with Mark on his left the, egg cracked....
