I, Tessa O'Connell, finally had a boyfriend on Valentine's Day and I was so excited, I wanted everything to be perfect. If you would have asked me a year ago if I was excited for Valentine's Day I would have laughed in your face and then said something sarcastic like, hell no. I dreaded Valentine's Day, seeing all of the lovey dovey couples made me sick to my stomach. Then secretly I would have gone and day dreamed about spending the day with my long time crush, Jay Stone. It felt like wonderful irony that I was spending my first Valentine's Day, not alone or with Beth and Megan, with Jay's brother Cole Stone.

Looking back I can't even fathom that I ever hated him. That cruel boy that teased me to no end hardly seemed like he existed now. It was like Cole was a completely different person who I was starting to fall in love with.

*Ring, ring, ring* My phone rang three times before I finally got the strength to roll over and remove my hand from the warm covers of my bed to grab my phone.

Incoming Call:

From BETH

"Hello?" I said as tired as I possibly could, to make her feel bad for calling so early.

"Happy Valentine's Day!" She sounded so happy and I puked in my mouth thinking about what her and Travis would be doing today.

"Beth, I love you and all, but please after this day is over, save the juicy details for Megan." I was completely serious, if there was anything I didn't want to hear about, it was my brother's sex life.

"Okay, I promise. But I have an idea." I rolled my eyes, it sounded like she was up to one of her elaborate schemes. They didn't happen often but when they did they were terrifying and always ended badly. "Travis and I were thinking of going somewhere nice for dinner and I thought it would be fun if we made it a double date. You and Cole and Me and Travis. Think about it before you say no." Beth knew I could never say no to her, I was just picturing her lip pouting, manipulating me into saying yes. Dangit.

"Okay, I'll talk to Cole about it though and get back to you. I don't know if he has anything planned." I told her, listing the pros and cons in my head to going on a double date with my brother and my best friend. It was just going to take some getting used to.

"You won't regret it, this is going to be a night to remember! I'm going to hang up now so you don't change your mind on me." She hung up quickly and I threw the covers up over me, burying myself in the warmth.

*Ring* I jumped at the sound of my phone ringing for a second time in a row.

"Beth I said I would talk to Cole." I said irritably.

"I hope you will be in a better mood for later shortcake." Cole flirted and even though I didn't see the look on his face, I could imagine it while he smirked his genuine smirk and winked with those smouldering eyes. "So what did you want to ask me?"

"Beth just wanted to know if we wanted to go on a double date with her and Travis tonight but since you probably have tonight all planned out-" I rushed.

"I can push it back a few hours. A double date sounds good." He said too nonchalantly.

"She already got to you didn't she?" I shook my head, already knowing the answer.

"Tessie, it's a good idea and she's your best friend. What was I supposed to say?" I groaned and Cole chucked. "Don't worry shortcake, we can go on a little date of our own afterwards. I'll pick you up tonight, six-thirty, be ready."
