Chapter Thirty Five
Ah'Taria -Lawson Estate

"Mother," drawled Jacob as he walked into her study, "We need to talk."

Acadia looked up from what she was trying to do to look at Jacob with a welcoming smile.  Placing her hand held on top of the paper she was trying to write on she inquired, "What would you like to talk about?"

Jacob smirked at his mother as he watched her make an act of arranging her desk so that he wouldn't see what she was doing.  "Lucas and I went to Nah'Bye assuming Kae and Kayla would go home."  He paused as he stared at her arranging a few strands of hair, "But their father and step-mother claims that they haven't communicated with them."

Acadia stared with adoring eyes at her son, "If their parent's don't know where they are what would make you think that I do."  Her soft smile and sparkling eyes watched Jacob patiently.

Jacob beseeched tugging on his ear, "Mom! Lucas is ready to turn the galaxy upside down to find her and Kaelen, please stop joking around and tell me what you know."

Looking down at her hands she smiled secretly, "I don't know anything Jacob."

The night of the Orlando's Charity Event

Acadia and Joshua entered their home twenty minutes after leaving the Orlando's house.

"Remind me to find out what the damages for the chandlers will be," she removed her wrap as she spoke to Joshua.

Removing his suit jacket he frowned, "I don't even want to begin to imagine the royals the damages are going to cost."

Acadia hummed in consent as she removed her dress and placed it on a chair, "I can't imagine why Kayla would say such things to Lucas."

Joshua cocked an eyebrow at her as he laughed, "Are you implying Lucas isn't spoiled?"

Acadia laughed as she pulled on a nightgown of dark purple, "He is very spoiled but for her to say it to his face and not expect-"

"He slapped her, Acadia.  Even I believe that was going too far." Sighing he looked toward the balcony and smiled.  "It appears we have company."

Acadia followed his gaze and saw Kaelen and Kayla seated outside on the balcony sleep on a bench.  Kaelen had draped his jacket over Kayla's bare shoulders and was holding her against his chest as they both dozed.  Smiling she walked to the French doors and threw them open.

Kaelen opened his eyes and stared at her and calmly spoke. "You claim that we are family."  He paused as he waited for her to nod, "Then help Mia and me get off Ah'Taria."

Acadia turned to Joshua, "Please make arrangements for Kae and Kayla to depart Ah'Taria quietly."  Turing back to Kaelen she asked, "Where do you plan to go?"

Shrugging Kaelen remained quiet as he hadn't giving that much thought.  He watched Joshua make several dials but remained quiet so he wouldn't wake his sister.

"You do know that Lucas will forgive you for protecting your sister," Acadia walked toward them waving a hand to light the small fire pits that dotted the stone balcony.  "All you have to do is ask," she continued as she waved another hand and a large netted bed appeared.  Motioning for Kaelen to place his sister in the bed she smiled, "Just like by now you are regretting that you hit him."

Kaelen laid Kayla in the bed and shrugged, "He hit my sister and that's something I can't let pass." Sighing he looked at her, "What type of brother would I be to have stood there and let him do that.  Kayla did nothing wrong it was all that banshee he married."
