Love Like You

Chapter 8

(Greg's POV)

Greg whistled as he walked, spinning the keys to his van on his finger. He was very happy; his latest date with Rose was successful. Of course, it wasn't a normal relationship, but one Greg appreciated all the same.

Greg had first at one of his concerts, a pink beauty in the middle of a cluster of lonely chairs. Greg had given up going on tour for Rose, and didn't regret it. Rose was very kind to him, though maybe sometimes a little to introspective. She had only limited knowledge of how humans and the Earth worked, and so she was constantly asking Greg questions.

Greg didn't mind, though. He knew that Rose cared about him, and he did Rose, and to him, that was all that mattered. They had so much fun together, so sometimes Rose's ignorance of Earth's customs and norms sometimes got the pair into trouble. Greg snorted at the thought of the time Rose had tried to "free" the animatronic moles from the crush-a-mole jr. and crush-a-mole machines, making Mr. Smiley need to replace them

Greg also giggled about the time he and Rose were tasked with babysitting Vidalia's son, Sour Cream. Rose had let him climb all the way up a merry-go-round, leaving Greg to climb up and get him. In the end, Rose had to save both of them from being flung from the ride's merciless spinning. After the ordeal, Greg had taken over It's A Wash (there was no one) working there anyways) and started making money to treat Rose right.

Even though, Greg was still unsure about how Rose felt about Greg. Sure, they had kissed during a failed Fusion dance, but Greg was still unsure Rose really loved him as Greg loved her. He didn't even know wether or not Gems were capable of feeling love at all.

As Greg arrived at the car wash, his van to the side and night approaching on the indigo horizon, Greg wondered wether Rose - or any of the Gems, for that matter - could learn to love like him.
