She was afraid of storms, and hated the rain.

He loved storms and the rain.

He made her un-afraid and love the rain.

They would walk in the rain together, hand in hand.

They weren't afraid of the world around them.

Now here He sits, all alone.

Because She is gone.

He remembers the day all too well, as if it were yesterday.

Really, it's been months.

Noise, dust, and death everywhere.

They tried to stick together, but it was impossible.

The enemy was everywhere, they were surrounded.

One by one, His men were going down.

He was sure He would be next, He only wanted to protect Her.

But He couldn't.

One shot? No. Bullets riddled Her body, and yet She didn't die.

She stood and fought by His side as long as she could.

Then the ships came.

The ships took out the last of the enemy.

He turned and saw Her on her knees.

She smiled before She fell into unconsciousness.

He ran to Her, and held Her in His arms.

Five minutes.

If those ships would have arrived five minutes sooner.

As He sat on the ground, the woman He loved in His arms.

He cried.

She looked up at Him, and whispered;

"Don't be sad. You'll see me again someday, I promise."

The tears fell from his eyes like a waterfall.

It began to rain.

"You always loved the rain."

"I did, but without you, it won't be the same."

"Don't miss me too much, we will meet again. But not too soon."

He tried to dry the tears, but they wouldn't stop falling.

His men stood around Him, keeping a distance.

"I love you...and i'll never stop."

"I love you too..."

Her eyes closed, and She breathed Her last breath.

Those were the last words She ever spoke to Him.

He cried.

Five Minutes sooner...and She would still be alive.

She would still walk with Him.

Talk with Him.

He would still be able to kiss Her.

Hold Her.

But not anymore.

She died that day.

She died protecting the man she loved.

She died, because a ship was only a few minutes late.

He had to watch Her die.

He died on the inside that day.
