That Should Be Me [A Short Story (Fanfiction)]

Part X: To Choose

Maya-sensei was sitting in front of her desk. She was staring at a piece of paper, which has "Marriage Registration" written on it. This piece of paper has been this issue between her and Nakajima-sensei for quite a while.

Nakajima-sensei and Maya-sensei were eating lunch together at home when Nakajima-sensei opened up a very sensitive topic.

"I think we should get married." He frankly said.

Maya-sensei almost chocked her food that she was eating after she heard this ridiculous idea of his. "Excuse me?"

"I said I think we should get married." Nakajima-sensei repeated what he first said.

"Are you drunk, Yuto?" Maya-sensei bluffed at him. "You can't be serious, right?"

Maya-sensei looked into Nakajima-sensei's eyes. She can see that stern look of it, meaning that he was serious.

"What jumps you to that conclusion, then?" She asked again. "Is it because of the child?"

Nakajima-sensei quickly replied. "Ummmm .... No. Its not because of that." He holds Maya-sensei's hand, and grasp it firmly with care. "I want to settle thing down, and have a family with you."

Maya-sensei was shook, and lost for word at his indirect proposal. She knows what she meant by 'settling down', but she didn't know how to respond.

"I'll take care of that." Another doctor, who noticed her absent-mindness, took the paper from her table.

"Marriage ... Registration." He slowly reads the contents aloud, in front of her. "Ooooohhhh!!! Are you getting married?!" He asked in a teasing tone.

Maya-sensei took the paper from her fellow doctor, and she snarled. "Its none of your business!"

"Oh! So you and Yuto-kun are REALLY getting married!" He smirked as he continued to bother Maya-sensei. "So will there be a ceremony? I wonder if the ceremony will happen before or after you gave birth?"

Maya-sensei is obviously annoyed at this doctor in front of her, bombing her questions which is none of his concern. "There will be no ceremony!" She cleared things out. "And this matter is between Nakajima-sensei AND I ONLY!"

The doctor clicked his tongue repeatedly ans asked again. "So, are you saying that you haven't decided?"

"I'm not answering ANY of your stupid questions, Yaotome-sensei." She grumpily replied.

"Ha! Your denying everything!" Yaotome-sensei bluffs. "You know, everyone knows that you and Yuto-kun will end up together." The doctor adds, which builds up Maya-sensei's irritation faster. "Gossips, ah no, legends says that you're having some kind of incest feelings with your late brother, and Yuto-kun is kinda your enemy because he's your brother's bff, but when he suddenly died, he transforms into your shoulder to cry on until he becomes your pillar of support. Well technically he's tall, so he looks like a pillar, but more importantly, from there, a new love has kindle up, and it started to grow little by little, until ..."

Maya-sensei whacked his head with using her doctor's chart before he could finish his ridiculous story. "Please go back to your doctor's duties, Yaotome-sensei, and stop sending stupid nonesense and false storied between Yuto and I." She warned him.
