When the world grows cold,
and the young grow old.
When grandpa only frowns,
and grandma is within the burial grounds.
When we are all deceased,
and our flawless skin becomes creased.
When we shrivel and shrink,
and we can't make it past the bathroom sink.
When old music is as hot as ever,
and the new music isn't all that clever.
When our pace is slowed,
and our eyes are crowed.
Why were we not told,
that one day... we'd grow old?
When it becomes hard to pee,
and these old eyes can no longer see.
When my ears can't hear,
and death becomes a constant fear.
When I see my grandchild,
and think of my younger days- young and wild.
When every breath could be my last,
and everything starts happening way to fast.
When tears make me have to blink
and I, must stop and think....
Why were we not told,
that one day, we'd grow old?
When I m put into a nursing home,
and only by wheel chair, may I roam.
When my bones easily break,
and all of my teeth are now fake.
When I lay down and close my eyes,
as death captures me at sunrise.
When I remember that I had not told...
Anyone!!!
That one day, we must all...
Grow old.
