TW : Language, Small Mention Of Abuse
"Hey? Do you know where dorm 207 is?" called a voice. Lexa looked over her shoulder, desperate to find the lost voice that was calling out to her.
"Yes! I do! Come to the big red sofa and I'll show you if you want?"
Lexa called back, she'd only been at Kane University a week but knew it like it was her second home. She hated the thought of someone new getting lost. It happened to her when she started high school, she got lost and got the nickname 'Lost Lexa' she hated the nickname and her own name.
Moments later a blonde girl with a green rucksack on her back came strolling anxiously towards the red sofa. "Lost?" Lexa asked the girl, she looked as if she was in space and had never even seen a single star.
" Yes! You must be the loud person who shouted after my dorm call?" The blonde girl asked curiously, she wore black skinny ripped jeans and an ACDC shirt that fitted her curves perfectly. Her hair had been dip-dyed a luscious pink that just made her outfit seem so much more punk-rock, almost like a natural born leader.
"Certainly am! Dorm 207? That's my dorm too!" Lexa smiled, she was an only child. She always wanted a sister, her parents wanted her to be an only child so they could make her an elite child. "I'm Lexa if you wanted to know."
"I'm Clarke. Your name is so beautiful, Lexa. It just feels so nice to say." Clarke got her name from her father. He chose it. Not only did Clarke admire Lexa's stunning name, her outfit looked like a dream on her toned body: a black and white striped t-shirt, a pair of black combat boots and some black jeans that looked like the exact pair that Clarke happened to be wearing.
"Thanks, my mother chose it before she died." Lexa's emerald green eyes slowly began to form puddles of tears, which were suddenly sucked away at the thought of the aftermath.
"My father chose my name before he died in an engineering incident, the oil they used was faulty and when they took the machine out, within seconds the vehicle was engulfed in flames. Still, it shaped me into who I am. Now I am here studying Medical Science to save those like my father for the better."
"I'm here studying sports, I got here on a scholarship, I'm currently awaiting my national football trials. They want me to play for the U.S, I was born in Australia though." Lexa never really did well in school despite her parents nagging and pressure. She adored sports more than anything else. It was her 'thing' some girls like dolls, some girl scouts but Lexa loved football. Sometime in elementary school, she'd be called a boy, that didn't phase her in the slightest. But what did stop her was her father. He was an abusive man, especially after Lexa's mother, died, washing the pain away with alcohol, he stopped supporting her. Although nothing would prepare her for when she came out as a lesbian. Her father abandoned her, she was left to fend for herself with the help of the local council she was given a small apartment and a weekly allowance to buy necessities.
"How about we go to our dorm?" Lexa asked with a huge smile on her face, she was overwhelmed with joy to have a roommate.
"Hell yes! I can't wait to finally have some freedom from my helicopter of a mother." Clarke's mother, Abigail Griffin, truly was always there for Clarke. She worked at her high school as a nurse, so if anything were to ever happen to her she would find out almost immediately. Sometimes it would be a bit awkward, she was caught kissing her ex-boyfriend Finn Collins at lunch and her mother put her through several years of embarrassment because of it.
Fifteen minutes later the two girls arrived at Room 207 to notice a note on the table. It read: party at 8 pm, DO NOT MISS OR BE UNKNOWN.
"Jeez that's a bit harsh, but how on Earth was it already on the desk?" Clarke wondered if this were going to be anything like high school parties. Nothing more than seven minutes in heaven and if they were lucky a bottle of vodka.
"Jasper and Monty, they must've been in and left it. Jasper knows everyone who's new and Monty is great at breaking locks. I bet by now he's made a master-key for this block." Lexa had met Jasper and Monty before Clarke had arrived. They were inseparable almost like twins, they'd have petty little arguments and fight each other over the smallest of things. "Hey, maybe you'd wanna come with me? We could meet some more of the 'newbies' and possibly get a little bit wasted, I mean if you'll come with me?"
Clarke had never really been to a good party, her mother didn't let her even go to her prom unless she went with Finn, in the end, she went with Finn but shortly after broke up with him. Unfortunately, he was way too protective of Clarke to the point of not being able to see her friends without him. "Fuck it! I'll go, my mother isn' here to say no, so let's do it! Please just don't leave me alone, I know literally nobody here and you're such amazing company!"
Lexa felt something inside of her explode like she was on a roller coaster, fuelled by nothing less than pure euphoria. She'd never felt something like this before. She'd been accepted by someone. "Can I tell you something, Clarke?" She smiled hopefully.
"Yeah, sure!" Clarke felt something drop. This could be bad. She covered the fear with a calming smile and thought "This isn't bad, you've known her barely a day"
This was it. "Clarke..." There was a brief pause and the tension could've been cut with a knife. "I'm a lesbian." Lexa's heart sank, what if Clarke didn't accept her? What if Clarke hated her?
"Lexa, that's completely normal. You should be so fucking proud of that. I don't care who the hell you love as long as you're happy. As a matter of fact, I'm bisexual."
Lexa was back on the rollercoaster again. Clarke was bisexual too. She'd never been accepted for who she loved. It was rather frowned upon in her family. She felt a way about Clarke she felt about nobody else. She was like the best friend she'd never had.
"How about a quick few shots?" Clarke smirked as she pulled a bottle of tequila out of her backpack.
"Fine Griffin! But no throwing up tonight. Deal?" Lexa pulled out two shot glasses for the pair as Clarke filled them
"Deal!" She chugged her shot in almost seconds. Three shots in Clarke was beginning to feel the heat rush through her body like a river of hot gushing lava.
"Hey, Lexa? Let's go or that deal of your won't last very long at this rate."
"Fine, you lightweight. Just watch me tonight!" Lexa grinned as she slammed the door behind her with Clarke by her side eager to meet someone new.
They arrived at the party, a sea of students cups in hands rushing toward them and pulling them under like a riptide. This was the beginning of a new chapter in both of their lives, for the better and for the worse.
