"Brittany Lillian Hale! I told you that you were needed in the ballroom 30 minutes ago! Where were you?" I heard my mom say. She is the queen of England. Which makes me the princess. I won't be queen though. I have an older brother named Edward that will take over. I was in my room jamming to 1D. Not proper princess behavior, I know. But I'm an original directioner and nothing is going to stop me from listening to my boys. I don't want to be the princess though. I want to be a writer. Or a singer. Or even a songwriter. My mother won't allow it though. I was writing a story on this amazing app called Wattpad. It is called Not A Dream. Such fun it is to let go and pour my heart into my writing. I've written a few songs too but my mom doesn't know. She is too prim and proper to approve of such "nonsense".
"I was listening to my boys Mother. I'll come down. Let me change first." I replied. I knew that I had to change. I was still in my nightgown. "Anna-Marie, will you choose and outfit for me. My mother wants me down in a few minutes." Anna-Marie was my lady in waiting and my best friend. She knew more about me than anyone else. Even my own family.
"Of course. I had this beautiful floor length red lace dress set aside. Your mother picked it out. She wanted you to wear it today because it is your birthday. Put this on." She carried out this gorgeous dress. (Picture above). I slipped it on and brushed my auburn curly hair. She put it in a half up and I slipped on some ballet flats. She put some light makeup on me. Oh yes, I turn 17 today. It is February 2, the day after Harry's birthday. He turned seventeen yesterday. There is a concert today. That is my motivation to get through today. I descended the stairs like a proper princess, knowing my mother would be watching.
" You are late" my mother stated.
"A princess is never late, everyone else is simply early." I know I quoted Princess Diaries but I don't care. I said it because my mother told me that.
"Correct response. Very good. We are having your birthday ball tomorrow. You still need to find a date. Please choose wisely. Normally we would have it today, however I am making an exception because of the concert. Act like a lady please. Also, it is your choice if you want an escort or not." She normally demanded an escort. "I bought you a meet and great and a backstage pass, as usual. However, you will go last on the meet and greet because I bought you double time. Enjoy."
"Thank you so much mother. No escort necessary at the concert. However, I will accept an escort up to the meet and greet. Once I arrive, he can leave."
"Very well, that is all. Now go to your dance lesson." I watched as my mother left. Maybe I could ask Harry Styles to be my date. It would be a dream come true. My dance teacher is so boring. We learn ballroom dancing. I already know how to dance. He is trying to teach me more complicated dances, but I learn them with ease. The lesson dragged on and on. Finally it was time for me to get ready for the concert. Yay. My mom was making me wear my nice dress to the meet and greet. However, I plan on changing immediately after into a short dress. I will still look like a royal, but I won't be nearly as fancy.

It is the most casual dress I own

It is the most casual dress I own. The one I'm wearing right now is the second most casual. I am paring my short dress with black pumps and a lacey black clutch with diamond edging. My mother didn't like the outfit, but this was my day out. She thought I looked to much like the "common folk". I looked semi normal when I wore this. I didn't stick out nearly as much. I put this second outfit in a diamond studded tote bag. I couldn't wait to change. I was escorted to the car. It was a black limo with window so dark, you couldn't see into them from the outside. It had flags with the royal family crest on them. I couldn't wait to get to the meet and greet.
