Ever since y/n's Mom has died, she had been passed through the hands of her family members; never staying in each house for more than a couple months. Most recently she had been staying at her aunt's house.

Y/N P.O.V.

The loud thud on the attic's door signified to me that it was time to get up. I could hear my Uncle's snores downstairs and I shuddered at the thought of all the day's work ahead. I could see from the small window that it was heavily snowing outside.

"Y/N wake up!" I heard my Aunt's strident voice yell.

"Coming Aunt." I shouldn't complain, after all, my aunt and her husband had taken me in after my godmother whom I was previously staying with had kicked me out. She had kicked me out after finding out I was bisexual and there was nothing I could do to convince her to let me stay. Without my aunt and uncle I would probably be living on the streets. But really, I knew they were just doing it for the money. I couldn't touch anything my Mom had left me until I turned 18 a couple months from now and they were in charge of all my accounts. By now I already knew there was probably only a quarter of the original amount left. I sighed, I felt so alone. I wish I had friends, at least one friend I could talk to. My school life wasn't that great, I spent all my time in the art room drawing or in the library reading romance novels and I didn't talk to anyone. I wished so hard to have an adventure, to get out of this attic and see the world.. to fall in love..

To be happy.

"Y/N if you don't get down this second I swear I will whip you so hard you won't know the time of day!" Well, maybe living on the street wouldn't be that bad after all. I quickly changed into my blue school uniform. Grabbed my bag and ran downstairs. I had very little personal belongings to my name: 2 shirts, one pair of pants, and a small teddy bear that my Mother had given me. I always took everything with me in the event that I decided to run away. I don't know, sometimes imagining you have the possibility of leaving makes your day better.
I quickly ran into the kitchen. My aunt was sitting at the counter.

"Finally! You're here." She croaked. "Start making us breakfast, I have some news to share with you." This was unusual. Usually she would tell me all the chores I had to do for the day and then let me be. I nodded quietly while heating up the leftover kimchi fried rice. "Your father's out of jail today. He'll be picking you up after school." At her words I dropped the empty glass container onto the floor and it shattered into a million little pieces.

"What? I..I don't understand.. How can this be? You're kicking me out? It's snowing!" Tears we're streaming down my face.

"I don't know and I don't care you ungrateful little bi***, but I don't want you hanging around here any longer. Do you have y'all your stuff?" I nodded quietly. I couldn't believe he was coming out. It had only been 5 years since he had been sent to prison. I didn't know much about the case except that it involved some kind of small robbery. You get more than 5 years for robbery? Right? All these thoughts rushing through my head made me forget about the pieces of glass on the floor. I had little pieces stuck in both of my feet and was bleeding profusely across the carpet.
"Ugh, couldn't leave me without doing some damage to the carpet could you? Be off before I kill you myself!"

Slowly, cutting my feet deeper and deeper, I trudged my way towards the door. "Goodbye Aunt." I said before closing the door behind me. I went to the shoe shelf to grab my boots but they weren't there. Crap, I thought, I must have left them inside, and there was no way I could go back in now. There was so much snow everywhere. I shrugged, at least the cold mai help numb the pain. And so, holding my pain and tears close, I tried to remove some of the glass pieces from my feet but in vain. I had nothing to bandage them. I grabbed an old pair of socks from my bag and I started walking in the rags that were now my socks.

As soon as I passed the first couple of intersections on my way to school, I realized the pain was too much to bear. I was hurting so much, I felt so alone. I felt like my feet had been chopped off. What if I died here, in this pouring snow? And it was so cold too. You were shivering. What if I died here from stupid glass wounds? Without having any time to process what was happening, I felt myself spiraling into the darkness. I expected to hit the pavement but instead, I felt a strong pair of siens holding me. In too much pain to open my eyes, I felt one of the arms slide under my legs and lift my poor feet off the ground. The last thing I remember before passing out completely was whispering "Thank you" to the person who had just saved me.

Someone's P.O.V.

I had seen everything through the window, her aunt yelling at her to come down, the news that her father was coming out of jail, the broken glass, the missing boots, everything. And when she fell, I felt that I had to had done something amazing in my previous life. I had waited for a chance encounter with her for two years now, ever since her mother had passed away. Oh y/n I thought. Now that I have you, I'm never ever letting you go..
