•Prologue•

His cold eyes pierced into mine, the way they burned with emotions he would never let out. He's careful, alert. You would think it's due to the details of his mission. But no. It's only because he knows better then the rest of those pitiful creatures.

Because he knows me.

The soft thud of my skin coming into contact with the stone wall behind me broke the eternal silence. Was there any real damage? Of course not. But I wouldn't let him know.

Know that the only things keeping my body in place were metal plates underneath. A horrid excuse for a human. A playful grin crept its way onto my face as i touched my throat, the feeling of his fingers still lingering.

'I wonder if he'd be mad if I said harder?'

'Of course he'd be mad, he's trying to rough you up & your going to say harder? Really?'

'I mean his grip was rather loose...'

'Just focus on escaping, I can't survive if you don't.'

'I should stab us right now since you feel that way.'

'No Amira I'm sor-'

I shut the voice out my mind completely. Now is not the time to argue with myself.

"Now," I started, my throat sore. "is that any way to treat a lady Nasir?" I watched with amusement in my eyes, evidently enjoying the scene.

"Why? Why can't I corrupt you?! What makes you so, so unbreakable?" He yelled out in frustration.

'Unbreakable, huh? '

My blood boiled. My vision blurry, no, seeping into red and black.

'Unbreakable'

I leaned forward, looking him in the eyes. A silent challenge. A silent taunt. Neither of us wanting to back down. I inhaled the earthy air, savoring the moment before a dry laugh escapes my lips. I then whispered,

"You can't break something that's already broken."
