The rest of the day was uneventful. I showed Camila the rest of her classes and we ate together at lunch. Now, we were walking home, getting to know each other while passing a joint back and forth."...then, she snatched my banana out of my hand and threw it in the trash," she said, laughing. I raise my eyebrows, amused, "Damn, that's cold."
She just shrugs and smiles gently, "I mean, she could've thrown my whole bunch...but, then, I'd cry."
"I feel you. If a bitch threw away my hot Cheetos, I'd be ready to beat her ass," she chuckles, nudging me then passes me the joint.
I take a drag, running a hand through my blond hair. Damn, I'm starting to feel it already. I take another puff and pass it back.
She takes it, shifting her backpack to one side. I stuffed my hands in my pockets and continued walking beside her.
"What about you? What's your family like?"
I tense a little at her question, but it went unnoticed. "Tell me about your parents, siblings? You did a lot of listening."
I sigh, "Well, my dad is dead and my mom isn't around. I live with my big sister, but she's almost never home and when she is, she's always drunk or high. Always. I do have a niece I don't see anymore, though."
She let out a gasp and rubbed my back, "Well, you have me, so you're not alone."
J shoot her a smile, "Thanks, Chancho" She raised a perfectly sculpted brow, "Chancho?" She let out a cute giggle.
My eyes widen and I scratch the back of my head embarrassingly, "Oh-Uh, it's like, uh, like a nickname. Y-you don't like it?"
She playfully shoves me and chuckles, "Quit being cute. Of course I like it. People usually call me Mila, so I'm not used to other nicknames."
We continued down the sidewalk in comfortable silence, finishing the joint when I had a crazy idea.
"Hey, you wanna sleep over? Y'know, it's the weekend and I kinda have the house to myself. I tend to get lonely."
She nods, flicking the small bud into the street, "You have to meet my parents first, though. They're like really old fashioned. I'm sure they'd love you though, so no need to get nervous."
I didn't realize how uncomfortable I looked. She talked about her dad being a business man and her mom being the stay at home. I'm not used to that kinda thing. It intimidates me.
"Ok, are they home now?" I steady my voice, but I was slowly freaking out internally. I know I shouldn't be, but I've been around drugs for most of my life.
"Yeah, they should be. Thank goodness my brother isn't though," she said a little too relieved.
Did she not like her brother? Sibling rivalry? I wish Mani was home long enough for us to get into arguments.
Is it sad that I don't remember my own sister's voice?
I chose not to say anything and simply walked towards our houses.
From here, I saw a royal blue car parked in front of her house. The color made me smile a bit since it's my favorite shade of blue.
I walked her to her front door and she turned to me, "Wait here, my dad's probably in his study." I nod once as she enters her house.
The perverted side of me watches her, eyes drifting to her ass. She cracks the door, shooting me a cute grin.
I smile back and took the time to examine the house.
