Kelevra looked outside his window in his office; he did well under pressure before, but now it was a requirement. If he didn't perform to the best of his abilities, people would get hurt. No, it was worse then that; they would die. He had never felt a fear like this. The pressure from his group, his village, and the followers was overwhelming. They all trusted him with their lives, and he had to live up to their expectations.
He walked up the stairs to the roof of the building. Being logical, he had chosen a Costco as his base. It was perfect; it had food that would last months, maybe even years, comfort items, personal hygiene products, and many other things to keep him distracted.
While he was overlooking the parking lot, he couldn't help but feel that something was going to go wrong. When he heard a car alarm followed by the scream, he wasn't too surprised. He rushed down the stairs and to the workshop inside of the Costco.
Ally and her sisters had survived some time without being noticed by the undead lurking around the area. Here in this parking lot, however, they had set off a car alarm that attracted an entire horde to them. One zombie got close and her sister, Raya, screamed. Ally bashed the beastly looking undead in the eye with the tire iron she had found earlier. The gray matter splattered on Raya's shirt as the zombie fell flat on what was left of his face
.
"Ew!" Raya said, scrunching her small, button nose.
"Shut it Raya! I am trying to figure out a way out of this!" Ally barked at her sister.
"I don't want to die!" Kat, their other sister, cried.
"We will be fine! Stop worrying you two!" Ally demanded.
Ally began to get mad at them and forgot about the giant mass of death walking towards them a little too quickly than zombies should be able to move.
"You two know I love you," she said nervously, her voice trembling,
The closest zombie that had walked toward them was reaching for Ally's neck when suddenly, its head exploded. It's body crumpled to the ground. She looked around to see the zombies falling around them one by one.
"What's happening?" Raya and Kat asked at the same time.
"There are still to many of them! We're gonna die!" Kat wept.
"Aren't we the pessimist?" Ally said.
She was so distracted by their bickering to see the young man running toward them, his pistols shooting.
"Hello there ladies, we need to go."
Before Ally could do anything he picked up Kat that was crying on the floor. When he reached over to get Kat, a zombie grabbed his shoulders. The zombie's head exploded just like the first and toppled over. He acted like nothing happened and ran back in the direction he came. Zombies were starting to surround Raya and Ally so they climbed on top of the car. A ring of flames ignited in a crescent moon shape with flames five feet high, stopping any approaching zombie. Well, except the ones that were already through.
One of the few zombies inside the ring grabbed Ally's foot. She slipped and fell making things feel dim.
"No! Ally!" Kat's screams were distant to her.
Ally awoke from her heaven to the nightmare that was around them. She looked towards the flames that were starting to get lower to see the young man jump through them and bash the four zombies' heads is.
"Come on, don't go dieing on me," Kelevra's voice seemed to carry a sense of happiness to it. Despite the hell that he was putting himself through, he was calm. He picked Ally up and threw her over one shoulder.
"What about my sister don't leaver her behind!" she screamed and hit his back with her fists that were clenched with anger and a ferocity she didn't know she had.
She stopped only when she saw her sister's head and hands appear beside her on the opposite shoulder. They both stared at each other as they bounced up and down to his light jog. Ally almost threw up when he jumped over the fire and his shoulder jammed up into her stomach.
"Sorry but this is going to hurt a lot worse."
He started to run with a swiftness that wasn't normal for a person with the two of them on his shoulders. They ran through what Ally thought was a sea of zombies. They then came upon a clearing under an out door roof. There was a lot of gunfire. Well what Ally guessed was gunfire because she had never actually heard it before other then on television, but it hurt her ears. The zombies that were in front of them started to fall at what looked like an invisible wall. Ally winced in pain as Kelevra flipped her and Raya over his shoulders.
"Hurry in through the doors...quickly," he demanded.
They ran through the big metal doors that started to un-roll from the top of the large, open door. Just as Ally came through, she had to duck a little so the bottom of the metal shutter closing wouldn't hit her
.
"Get under there now Matthew!" she herd the young man yell from the other side of the door. Right after the gunfire stopped and a man rolled under the door, the young man that had ran with us Ally and Raya his shoulders appeared just as the doors closed. He got up, brushed him self off, and wiped his hands off on his pants. Ally looked up into his face for the first time to truly look at him. He extended his hand to her.
"My name's Kelevra."
