"Marinette?" I asked the girl lying next to me. We were counting the flowers that had bloomed on the ceiling, as we did everyday. Since Marinette had started visiting me, life began to spread around me.

"Yeah, Adrien?" She responded. Her soft voice was smooth like icing, making me want to eat it all up. I touched her blue hair gently, rolling it in my fingers.

"Have you told anyone about me?"

"Of course not, Adrien!" She exclaimed. She rolled her body over so that we were facing each other. We were so close. Our noses were almost touching. I admired her lovely features as we gazed into each other's eyes. Her cream colored, porcelain skin. Her soft, pink lips. I felt my heart ache for her, wanting, needing, yearning. She was like a doll. She was beautiful and lovely, yet I was not allowed to touch her. She was too delicate. As if any moment she would disappear from existence. I didn't want to break her.

I brushed her hair out of her face gently. "Why aren't you afraid of me?"

She tilted her head. "What's there to be afraid of?"

"Everything."

"I used to be afraid of everything, actually. Spiders, insects, animals, ovens, heights, clowns, falling, planes, guns, drugs, even love. I just felt like all these things can hurt people, yet, then I realized that they bring everything a greater purpose at the same time. Yes, spiders are scary, but they feast on insects. Yes insects are gross, but they give spiders food. Yes, animals are wild, but they can make some people happier than ever before. Yes, ovens can burn you, but they help make food. Yes, heights are terrible, but they can help you see the world from a different point of view. Yes, clowns are absolutely terrifying, but one day they might put a smile on a child's face. Yes, falling is dreadful, but what if you're just falling for a person? Yes, planes are the worst, but they can help you explore the world. Yes, guns are painful, but they can help bring someone to justice. Yes, drugs are dangerous, but they can help heal a person. Yes, love is unwanted at moments, but sometimes you just need someone that has your back. I guess that's how I think of you. Yes, you do destroy everything, but you still bring me to life."

I stared at her. She made my heart warm up. A fluttering occurred in my stomach, but I don't know why. I had never felt such a strange feeling before. Why was it happening to me?

"You shouldn't frown so much." She said.

"Why is that?"

"Well, my mother always tells me to remember to always be happy because I never know who's falling in love with my smile."

Her saying that did make my lips curve upwards slightly. It was so cheesy yet so meaningful. We stayed there, staring at each other. I wanted it to last forever, but it came to an end when she got a call on her cell phone.

"Sorry, Adrien. I have to take this."

I nodded curtly at her.

"Hello? Chloe?! What? I've never heard of an Adrien Agreste before. Right back at you! What? You can't call me a slut if you're one yourself! How did you even get my number? Nathaniel? Why would he give you my number? Wh-What?! That's not true! Ugh, don't ever call me again. Yeah! I wasn't planning on calling you either!"

Marinette harshly tapped a button on her phone. She looked as if she was ready to breath fire.

"What's wrong?" I asked.

"Chloe! I don't see why you ever went on a date with her." She huffed stubbornly.

I stood up and walked over to her. "I only went because I was desperate. I don't really get out much. Besides, I got to meet you."

I put my hands on her shoulders, so our faces were inches apart. She smiled at me. I felt my heart pick up as she shyly brushed a stray hair away from her face. She was just so, lovable. This strange girl that had no fears, and she was as fierce as a storm.

It was going to be hard to not fall for her.
