"You know what we should do?" Said James. "We should go visit Earth before we leave."
"I agree." said Joe.
We all got up and went to the hospital were Earth was held. As we walked in we saw his son Caesar sitting by his bed, talking to him.
"You look so different..." he said to Earth. He put his head down beside him and sighed. I lightly knock on the door. Ceaser jumps and looks towards me.
"Are you the good humans?" he asks anxiously, standing before me. I nodded and he runs up to me and hugs me.
"Thank you for saving my people, and most of all thank you for saving my father. We will never forget you... Mellon."
I hugged him back and then took a seat beside Earth who was still uncontious. I held his cold hand. And noticed how his skin was more pale than before. I couldn't even feel a pulse. But I knew he was still alive.
"He looks like he's dead." said Joe in awe. "Their healing process is remarkable. Their heart pulse and breathing rate slows to keep from bleeding out, but it slows cell division and yet they heal so quickly!"
"Cells divide more rapidly so we heal faster when our hearts slow down." Caesar explains.
"You must be a smart kid." said Joe.
"Wait... wouldn't that cause a greater risk of cancer?" James questions.
"What's cancer?" asks Caesar.
Joe looks to James and he shrugs. "Guess aliens don't get cancer."
"That must mean Humans aren't fully evolved!" I said.
That made me wonder about a lot of biological stuff. I've never been so open minded before. Suddenly Earth's heart beat monitor starts to beep louder. I covered my ears as Caesar start to turn nobs on the monitor. Soon, it is quiet again.
"What was that?" I said.
"Father's healing. look, you can see that he is breathing!"
I looked closer at Earth and could barley see his chest rising and sinking. I touched his wrist but couldn't feel a stronger pulse yet.
"Remarkable!" Joe admired. "How long until he fully recovers?"
"A least a weak..."
"That's seven months for us." James said.
Soon enough we got to know Caesar allot better. He is actually fifth teen! It's hard to tell when he looks ten years old. He is also learning to become a doctor himself, which explains why he knows so much. And since Joe is also into all that medical stuff he gave him a text book that contains everything to know about their race historically and biologically.
Not only that, but he also explained to us that there are about four more alien species out there, and the ETs that we are with now are pilgrims searching for new habitable planets. And there's way more types of technology. Teleportation, Time travel, Supernatural powers, floating structures, Duplication, etc...
I could not believe what I was hearing! These are things that Humans wouldn't be able to accomplish for hundreds of years. Not even if we tried.
While I was lost in my thoughts, Nova's voice spoke from an intercom. "Attention all members, we have arrived at planet earth! Please find a secure area to prepare for landing!"
"What?" said James.
"It's better if you sit on the floor." Said Caesar. Then Earth's bed began to automatically lower. "So we just sit?" I asked. Caesar nodded, and we all got down as well. A hospital administrator walks in and asks if every one is secure and made sure that the bed is locked into place. Then, as he leaves he yells "We're good to go, all patients secure! Send the ready beacon!"
In about two minutes the whole ship began to shake and rumble. Caesar sat plainly as me, Joe and James bounced around the floor. The intercom came on again with another announcement.
"We are now entering the atmosphere, please activate your PAGD!"
"What is that?" Joe asks.
"Personal artificial gravity device." says Caesar. He then pulls back his sleeve and presses holographic buttons on a metal brace attached to his arm. "It's so that we don't feel heavier on your land."
"You had those this whole time!?" James fussed. "Do you know how odd it feels to walk around weighing half your own weight?!"
"Can you imagine how exhausting it would feel to walk around weighing two times your own weight?" Caesar responds. "By the way other spices that weigh lighter on other planets usually don't mind. unless they are floating off the ground."
