Chapter 2

Dr. Brown was surrounded by swirls of dark purple. There were debris from the wreckage with him. He felt weightless. He actually seemed unable to move. He was still able to look around. He had butterflies in his stomach. He was having quick-ending flashbacks. Then, he eventually got so dizzy, that he fell unconscious.

He was phasing back to consciousness when he heard a voice. He couldn't understand it though. It was very distorted. He then felt something metal poking his cheek. When his vision cleared, he was face-to-face with a robot. He gasped and jumped up. The robot was taller than him counting the antenna on the top of its head.

"Hey, whoa there! Take it easy. I was just trying to pickpocket you." The robot said.

Dr. Brown was shocked that it was so humanlike. Its voice had expression!

"What are you? Where the hell am I?" He said still shocked.

"You're in New New York, duh! And I think you meant to ask who are you. I don't people who are racist! Oh, and I'm Bender." Bender said.

"New New York? Why are there two "News?" Dr. Brown asked Bender confused.

"Because this is New New York." Bender said plainly.

"Wait...." Dr. Brown pondered. "What year is it?"

"Are you on drugs or something? It's 3017!" Bender said.

"No I'm not on drugs! I'm from the past! And another dimension!" He said frustrated.

"There's only one way to find out." Bender said mischievous.

"How?" He asked suspicious.

"Follow me." Bender said as he walked ahead. They were apparently in Time Square, or whatever they called it in this universe. Dr. Brown looked around amazed. Flying cars, transportation tubes, and so much more. He was intrigued to find out that robots, aliens, and humans lived together equally. Somehow there were baby robots and their "parents." He wondered how to tell "male" robots and "female" robots. This universe was amazing. Bender caught Dr. Brown's interest even more. He was obviously a crook, but also a good guy. He, for as much as he knew Bender was a he, obviously had free will. As did all the other robots. The two passed a corner, and on the other side of it was a big red-bricked building. One side of the building was a tower with a little railing. The other side was a big box like part. It apparently had a huge hangar. Bender led him to the front doors.

"This is where I work." Bender said.

The doors slid open. It surprised Dr. Brown.

"Ha ha! You act like you've never seen sliding doors, meatbag!" He laughed.

"Meatbag?" Dr. Brown asked confused.

"Oh yeah, that's what I call you humans." Bender said.

"Oh. What do you do here?" Dr. Brown asked.

"I normally sit on the couch and watch TV with my favorite meatbag." Bender said casually.

"That's not very productive." He said.

Bender turned toward the scientist.

"Hey, bite my shiny metal ass!" He said.

"No thanks. I meant what is your job?" Dr. Brown said annoyed.

"Oh. I work with two humans and we deliver packages to different people on different planets. Hence the name Planet Express." Bender said.

"Fascinating." Dr. Brown said softly.
