Brooklyn
I guess to say that I was dreading watching the under 15s play was an understatement. I was made to go every year by the English youth football college as an ambassador and every year we came, we watched, a few kids got scouted and then we all went home.
At least it wasn't raining though, in fact it was lovely and sunny. Not boiling hot but not cold either. It was the perfect day for a football game.
The match, I could already tell, was going to be boring. They always were.
I watched for fifteen minutes but after that I just couldnt concentrate. I decided to try and concentrate on the players, afterall I was here to help scout. My attention seemed to focus on this one girl. She clearly had a talent for football: maybe I would talk to the scouts about her. She had long brown hair tied in a high ponytail. I thought to myself just how stunning she was: naturally stunning.
I guess Toby, my mate from the academy, had noticed that I was staring at the girl because he shoved my shoulder and remarked "Brooklyn's got his eye on a midfielder". The head scouts, men who I'd only really seen round the academy a few times, laughed but kept their eyes on the game. Toby looked put out that the joke hadn't gone further, he was definitely out to embarrass me.
