So, lets get a little bit of things out of the way. I am a just and average 15-year old teenage guy who has a nice childhood. I’m somewhat a pretty intelligent, courageous, strong, and very different which I’m always ok with. I know that I am not a very sexy, hunky, and or a model-looking guy, which is not too much of a problem if I am not that at all.

So let me explain to you about my family. My parents had died on May 24, 2002. It was my birthday and I would have died under the rubble of the burning manor house on the California coastline if it hadn’t fell down the way it had did. It was never easy for me to watch my parents slowly die after being crushed by the marble walling. I went for 2 days without being found. My horrible birthday was forever clear inside my head.

>Flashback<

I held my father’s dead body, crying waterfalls. I felt as if I would never escape from the darkness that had trapped me in.

“Father. Mother. Please com back.” I was crying on my father’s stomach. Before my father had died, he slowly lifted something from his pocket and transferred it to my tiny hands. It was my father’s favorite ring. He wore it everywhere, including at fancy parties. He never seemed to ever take it off until now. It was a shiny golden ring with a 12-carat emerald with .25-carat diamonds encrusted in the band of the ring. I slowly put it in my pocket and rested on him as his eyes slowly closed, telling me he had passed away.

As I sobbed, a crack of light had struck the area of my father’s leg. I looked up as I heard the crushed marble make way. Then all of a sudden, a bunch of light had struck me, making me cover my eyes. A figure had appeared in my vision. The figure had yelled, “GUYS I FOUND A SURVIVOR!” The figure came to me and asked, “Hey, are you alright?” I slowly nodded with tears still falling from my face. “Come on let me get you out of here,” the figure said. He slowly lifted my weak body out of the prison that trapped me for those long 2 days. As the fireman lifted me out, the stench of the fire and smoke filled my nose, making me tear up.

As the sun shined on my face, medics and nurses quickly came to my aid. A pair of arms tried to take a hold of me, and then I yelled in fear, grabbing the fireman’s suit very tightly for dear life. “Guys its okay. I’ll will take care of the boy.” My hero had said to them. Then he had said to me, “Can you please let me go to see if you are alright?” I was then lowered on to a stretcher. The fireman quickly took off his helmet, revealing his long brunette hair that only reached to his lower neck.

He got an alcohol wipe, and wiped it on the cuts on my legs. I tried to keep the pain to myself, but it was hard not to. I yelped making the fireman jump a little. Then the young firefighter asked, “What’s you name little boy?” I nervously answered, “Nathan, the names Nathan.” I smile and the young firefighter responded, “Well it is nice to know you Nathan. My name is Brendan, Brendan McCrea.” He smiled back and said, “I will take you to family’s home and we would love for you to be in our family.” I nodded with a grin on my face.

After Brendan cleaned me up, a police officer tried to escort me to a police cruiser to take me to the foster home 15 blocks down, but Brendan stopped him and said, “Its okay officer, I’m taking him home with me.” The officer left and Brendan walked back to Nathan.

After a week of processing and debating, I was released and adopted by the McCrea family; Brendan drove me to their house in his crimson red Ford Mustang Boss 429. The breeze was hitting my face and looked at my brother with a smile on my face. He smiled back and he said to me, “We are almost there! Our family can’t wait to see you!” We pulled up to a very large mansion where two very slender adults with 6 other boys standing with a smile on their face. Brendan stopped the car an opened the door for me.

As I walked out of the car the boys all ran at me and welcomed me with their smiling. Then the mother of the boys said,” Hello Nathan, my name is Lidia McCrea. I hope you find it nice here.” I nod my head and embraced her. I felt a small tear run down her cheek. The she put me down and introduced me to my new dad. The tall man spoke with a deep, calm voice said, “Welcome Nathan to our fine establishment. My name is Declan McCrea. I am so happy to see you.” I smiled and gave my new father a big handshake. Then Brendan came behind me and introduced me to my new brothers. There were Mats, Alex, Daniel, Konrad, Nick, and Sean who was inside. Mats, Nick, and Konrad were my age and they gave me a nice warm welcome. Alex and Dan were about 2 years ahead of me, but they treated me like family. Then my new parents told us to go into the house. As the door opened, my eyes widened to see the beautiful inside of the house.

Then as I looked around, I then heard a voice saying, “Oh… It’s here.” My mother said, “Sean! Don’t speak like that to our new family member!” Sean glared at me and started talking back at my mother. I went up to him and hit him in the stomach. In a strong voice I said, ”Don’t talk to you mother that way!” Then in anger Sean said, “WELL YEAH! WHY DID YOUR PARENTS LEAVE YOU! I BET THEY WERE DRUNK PEOPLE ON PAROL WHO CAN’T TAKE CARE OF YOU!” Tears filled my eyes quickly, and then I ran out the back door into the courtyard to find the biggest red Japanese maple tree I have ever seen. I slowly climbed up an and sat on the tallest branch I could get to and curled up and continued to cry. As the afternoon sun fall was beginning, I heard Mats and Konrad calling for me, but I didn’t answer. They then got up to the tree and saw me. Mats climbed up to where I was and told me Sean was very sorry. I started to cry again and then Mats guided me down to the grass. They both kindly comforted me and showed me to my room. As I fell asleep, my new parents kissed me on the forehead and wished me a goodnight. Mats and Konrad just stood there with smiles on their faces. My vision blurred and I fell asleep.
