Prologue

The Art of Farting was written in hopes to start a serious, yet humorous conversation on farting etiquette! Let's face it everyone does it, and yet no one talks about it! It's time to lift the veil of denial and start having a fun, interesting conversation about farting! Or like some people, like to say, "Passing Gas." Ugghh! Boring! Let's be real, let's have an open, but humorous, yet truthful conversation about farting.

The Art of Farting is a collection of funny farting stories told by various people throughout the years. So, if you don't have a sense of humor, you might have a heart attack while reading this book. It was written for all the light-hearted people of this world who like to learn lessons steaming from everyday life's mishaps. This collection of short stories is loosely based on actual events that have occurred to various people throughout the years. The Art of Farting is meant to be used as a farting etiquette guideline, as a reflection, and most importantly as "I am having a bad day! What can I read to get me out of this terrible mood, but without feeling guilty for not learning something new book!"

The Bart Simpson Effect

It is without say the American television series "The Simpsons" captivated a whole generation around the world. Bart and Homer Simpson ill humor glued thousands of people around the world to their television sets every week for many years. It is the longest-running American sitcom, as well as the longest-running American animated program till this day. On September 25, 2016, it began its 28th season.

The question is why is this program so popular? Well, for starters it's an animated serious depicting a dysfunctional working class family. A lot of topics that have aired on the show were presented as satire and comedy. Some of these topics were considered a taboo at the time the episode aired, but The Simpsons made it possible through satire and comedy to begin an open conversation about American culture, society, and human condition via comedy.

The Simpsons accomplished what many institutions and politicians failed to do by using satire and comedy. The Art of Farting aims to talk about something that is very natural, but embarrassing if handle incorrectly. It's okay to fart!
