The Interview

P.1 Promotion

Kara's POV

I had woken up early to get to Noonan's for Ms.Grant's coffee. I wanted to do great on my last day, at least I think it's my last day. I had heard rumors from the day before that Ms.Grant was promoting me to a new field of work.

When I got to Noonan's I had 45 minutes to spare. I ordered a sticky bun to eat there. After that I order Ms.Grant's latte to go and made my way to CatCo.

I made my way to Ms.Grant's office. "Here is your latte Ms.Grant. Just the way you like it hot." I said with a sincere smile. "I've decided to let you go Keriah." She said. I face of worry "I'm giving you a promotion, but you have to find me a new assistant." She said only once looking up at my face to see the nervousness fade into a smile. She stood up and walked over to me. "Do you have any idea of what you would like to do?" She asked with a blank face with a bit of a smile at the corners at of her mouth. "Well...... I have always wanted to become a reporter." I said as a sort of questioned. She smiled "And why is that?" "Because I like the fact that they get to travel and go places even if it is just for work. They get to take information and make it their own story" I stated. "And I just wanted to say thank you for letting me go with Clark to interview Ms.Luthor, that helped influenced my choice as well." I stated with much passion."That's a lot of passion there Kara. Anyways I hope you enjoyed Mr.Luthor, because you'll be interviewing her. Not now because you have the rest of the day off, but is Monday your first day as a reporter." I felt blush creep from my cheeks to my ears when she said Mr.Luthor's name. Even in the short time that I had known her I started to develop a crush on her. "Of course Ms.Grant. And thank you very much I'll see you on Monday." I said as I waved to her and rushed out the building.

I went home to find Alex there. "What are you doing here I thought you were at the DEO?" I asked happy but, worried to see my sister. Shouldn't she be at the DEO with J'onn I thought. "Well Maggie asked if I wanted to go to lunch so, I came home early to change into something more comfortable. Why are you home early?" She asked with a raised eyebrow. "Well I got a promotion." I stated with a huge smile on my face. "Oh my gosh! Really!?" She asked as she jumped off the couch. "Yeah" I said still smiling. "To what field?" "Reporter. She asked what I wanted." "Really? Why a reporter though?"
She asked. "I've kinda wanted to be a reporter." "So what's your first assignment?" "Um well you see" I stuttered as my face became red and hot. "Oh they must be special" she teased. "Her name is Ms.Luthor. I think its Lena Luthor. I'm not sure." I felt like my faced was on fire. "Your crush!?" she asked. "How? How do you do that? How did you know I had a crush on Lena Luthor?" I asked surprised. "Because I know you Kara. Anyways, I have to go I can't keep Maggie waiting . Bye!" She said as she ran out the door.
