Waking Up

It's quiet. And dark. Why? What happened? How did I get here?

The black seems suspiciously similar to what lies behind my eyelids.

Wait... I think it IS behind my eyelids. I must be asleep. Wake up!

My brain is awake, yet I refuse to open my eyes immediately. I register something damp on my forehead, and feel the presence of someone next to me. I slowly open my eyes, taking in my surroundings.

I'm still at Saeran and Seven's house?

I'm confused. I'm lying down on the couch with a damp cloth on my head. My glasses are on the coffee table and I slowly turn my head to my left to see Saeran sit up and lean closer to me.

"(Y/n)! I'm so glad you're okay. I was worried something horrible had happened to you." Saeran bit his lip nervously.

"Wha- What happened?" I croaked, attempting to sit up.

He placed a hand on my chest and gently pushed me back down. "Don't try to sit up just yet. You fainted. Saeyoung helped me take care of you."

Wait. I... FAINTED? Hyun's warning... It came true. But what about the second part? He didn't tell me about that, just that it was bad. I hope nothing goes wrong. Shit.

"You alright now, (Y/n)?"

I nod.

"Do you want your glasses?"

I nod again.

Saeran gently curls two fingers around the crossed arms of the glasses, careful not to touch the lenses. He balances it on those two fingers before passing them to me.

I put them on and sigh in relief. Now I can see properly.

"Do they help you feel better?"

A third time I nod my head.

"Oh- You must be thirsty. Do you want a drink of water?"

Up-down.

Saeran looks reluctant to leave my side, but goes to fetch the water. I slowly sit up, since I'll have to anyways when I drink, removing the damp towel from my head before it falls.

What even happened? I guess I didn't eat nearly enough today. Damn. This whole thing is my fault, not Zen's stupid 'psychic powers.'

I scoff quietly as I hear Saeran return with the water. "Feeling better, princess?" He asks, handing it to me.

I nod yet again, accepting the glass. The nickname no longer bothered me. I guess I got used to it pretty fast... And I'm not lying when I say I'm feeling better. I'm just... dazed. And confused. It's a strange feeling when you wake up somewhere unfamiliar with no idea how you got there in the first place.

He lets out a sigh of relief and sits back down in front of the couch. He never takes his eyes off of me, and there's an ever-present look of concern on his face.

I raise the glass to my lips and take a sip. It should make it easier for me to speak when I finally do, plus I AM really thirsty.

"You really scared me, you know." Saeran whispered, looking at the floor.

I stare down at him in shock, nearly dropping the glass.

Wait... what? Before I ask about this, I probably should move so my klutzy ass doesn't drop the water. I can't make him stress over me any more than he already has.

I move up on the couch, sitting indian-style with the glass balanced in my lap.

That's better. Maybe now I can answer him, finally.
