A N A I A H

"Is today the day?"

I turn to my right and look into the hopeful eyes of my best friend whilst reaching out to grasp her hand through the cell.

"Tomorrow and I think I'll be strong enough." I give her a hopeful smile.

"4 months Naiah, 4 months we've been in this cell." She coughs out, re-adjusting herself against the wall to focus on our conversation.

"I know Zay, but I promise, I have enough strength now." It was true, for weeks now Zaya had been giving me most of her rations so I could muster up enough energy to get us out of this hell, week by week I could feel me and my wolf getting stronger.

Lately, all I could think about was the look on my moms face when she would see I'm finally home, no doubt the whole pack would be looking for us, right? If not me then Zaya, she is the Betas only child... come to think of it, I wouldn't be surprised if my mom gave up looking for me. The alcohol and drugs have probably replaced the little existence left of our relationship that we had before all this happened.

If they were looking for us they would've found us already, they probably gave up.

Why would they stop looking for the daughter of Beta John? Zaya is important to the Light Crescent Pack, they couldn't have just stopped looking for her.  I scold my wolf Liah and shut her out.

"Do you still remember the plan?" Asking Zaya I tilt my head to the side reading the little brass clock on the table, 9:58. 2 minutes until breakfast.

"When the guard comes down to give us our breakfast you attack, grab the keys and we run like hell and then when we get outside you shift into your wolf, I jump on your back and then we go as far away from him as possible."

I had to listen very carefully, her voice was barely above a whisper because of how weak she was. I feel really bad that she was giving me her rations and not having enough to feed herself, you could hear and see the outcome of it.

"You can have my rations today Zay, you haven't eaten properly in weeks." Hoping she will agree but being the stubborn person she is, she refuses.

"Naiah you're our only chance of escaping, you need all the energy you can get, not for yourself but for the both of us." Croaking out, Zaya coughs in discomfort, barely keeping her eyes open whilst licking her withered lips.

I nod, weakly agreeing with what she's saying.

He's coming down right now act lifeless!

Oh because that's so hard. My tone sarcastic as I reply to Liah.
