Chapter 1

2014 is upon us . Along with it came more great moments and important decisions that would further push Jessie's career to a skyrocketing height. One of her major goals consisted in travelling all the way to the US, to re-release of her latest album "Alive". It was obvious how badly she wanted to put her name on the map, just like her fellow British artists did: Adele, which she had the pleasure of meeting back at Brit School, Cher Lloyd, One Direction, Little Mix and last but certainly not least, Ellie Goulding. Ah, it's been a long time since I last saw her, a year, I reckon?
Anyhow, tonight was the Brit Awards nomination party, yours truly being up for an award this year for "Best Solo Female." I was competing up against other four incredibly talented acts. It would prove to be a tough battle. I would still be happy for the winning artist, no matter who it was.

Right now, Alisha did her best to make sure that I would look fabulous for the party later tonight. I was patiently waiting on a chair, ready for Alisha's magic hands to start working on my hair.

"Hey, Jess?" She chirped in, obviously in a good mood.

"Yeah?" I questioned, slowly turning my head to look at her.

"Your hair is really short. We should change it up a bit." She sceptically examined my black quiff.

"Do as you please, I'm not the expert here. I'm convinced that whatever you choose will turn out to be really lovely." I stated, smiling genuinely.

"Alright, so, I was thinking, how do you feel about clip-on extensions?" She wondered, strutting all the way to the bed to pick up a silver suitcase.

"What do you exactly have in mind?" I returned her question, taking quick glances now and then from my sitting position.

"Give your fans what they want to see. Take it back to the beginning. The famous bob." She soon returned with a bunch of clip-ons ,twisting them around her finger.

"I like the sound of that." I smirked, knowing how much my fans missed seeing me with my signature hairstyle. They weren't the only ones though. It was an early memory from the start of my career as a singer, the evolution was evident. It's not really about the hair. I've grown over the course of four years. Not even my music sounded the same anymore, having written the songs for my first album at a much younger age. " Alive" was different. It had a more mature sound, different emotions described through every single song. I wanted to showcase my voice at its best, hiding beauty in simplicity. That's why I wanted my album cover to be neat, raw, stripped down.

A bit of combing, lots of heat protection and straightening after, having added slight touches of hairspray to keep my hair in place, Alisha was done. I asked her for a mirror so I could see the results for myself. It was stunning, simple, timeless yet somehow edgy. I couldn't be more in love with how it looked, even though it was mostly made out of extensions. Karin took care of my make up. She accentuated my green eyes with minimal amount of makeup, just to my liking, still keeping a trick up her sleeve by adding a really bold red lipstick. I contributed to this entire look by styling myself, which was something I really enjoyed doing. I wore a black striped dress, pairing it with some really tall heeled mesh boots and an oversized clutch. I checked myself out in the mirror for one last time before Holly announced that we had to leave for the venue. I was really looking forward to this.

Ellie's P.O.V

"Brits, I'm coming for you and I'm ready to win this thing." I spoke determined. With each time that I repeated that in the back of my mind, my confidence just grew. Being nominated for an important award at such a prestigious show was an honour to me, I never imagined I would get this far. On the other hand, being among other notable names in this industry made the affair even more nerve-wrecking than before. Although this was a music related event, you still had to dress to impress. I put together a simple outfit that would have to do for this occasion: a black strapless dress and the matching shoes. I went for a natural look that allowed my skin to breathe freely: two coats of mascara and a matte nude lips. In the end, less is more. As for my hair, I didn't do much to it either, just rubbed a bit of mousse between my hands and started scrunching it up a bit, opting for that wavy effect. According to the clock on my wall, I still had 10 minutes left .

I picked up my cell phone from the table, ringing my driver. More people have started to notice me ever since I came back from the States where I did a lot of promotional work for my rereleased album: "Halcyon Days". Of course, being noticed wasn't always as pleasant like others would like to think, as I had the media after me almost on a daily basis. Celebrity has a price and I have to pay for it sometimes.I had a lovely time in the States, meeting Ellen and performing on her show was probably one of the greatest highlights of my trip. But a girl just got to stick to her roots, right? I wouldn't ever trade London for the US. Sometimes I even had to pinch myself to convince myself that everything I was living right now was real. I remember, back in the days, I was a simple country girl, doing gigs in my hometown, dreaming of being a part of something even bigger. And now, here I was, doing what I loved most, singing. And I cherished every moment I got to do it.

Author's note: Alright guys, there you have it, yet another fanfiction of mine. For the past couple of hours it has been my secret baby, and now, here I am, sharing it with the world. This is quite a different approach at a Jessie fanfiction, as it involves another ship and it is my first attempt at a Jesbian fanfiction so far. I hope that you the whole idea behind of it. Feedback would be really helpful, in terms of me being able to notice my evolution. Lastly, have a nice day/ evening everyone. :)
