She ended it that day
Her brother was away
Her mother didn't care
There was nobody there
Her father was asleep
The cuts went too deep
Her heart finally stopped
Her body just dropped
She was free
Why didn't they see?
When she was smiling
Why didn't they see her tears?
When she acted brave
Why didn't they see her fears?
Why force her to act strong
When everything went wrong?
Why ask if she was sick?
Where they that thick?
Couldn't they hear her cries
See the dark in her eyes
She hoped they would cry as much
As they made her when she was alive
She hoped they would scream
As much as she wanted to
She let go of the edge
A last smile on her face
The one they said they loved
But mercilessly took away.
