Chapter 1 (Work In Progress)

        A breeze shifted through the graveyard on the cool autumn afternoon. A funeral was being held for the one of the fallen heroes that died during a raid. The leader and the fallen soldier were close friends since childhood. They always came to blows over orders but had each other's backs no matter what. The leader has short brown hair and green eyes. Bulky build and about 5 foot 10 inches. He put his hand in his friends casket and cried. His other friends surrounded him.

"Sendo, you can't blame yourself for what happened. It wasn't your fault. You can't put it on your shoulders, the guilt will will eat you alive."

A friendly voice said, approaching him and softly putting her hand on his shoulders. The female had long black hair, green eyes and was 5 foot 7 inches

"Yeah well, it's easy for you say Yuki. You weren't there, I should have talked him out of it." He said coldly.

        "He was always stubborn, I couldn't imagine the pain Ashido was going through. This whole thing we are part of, it changed him. I don't know how you guys were like brothers. You're opposites. In high school, you got the grades and he skipped class. You hate fighting and he loved it. You're against killing and he would do whatever was necessary to win a battle or complete a mission. You guys butted heads more than anyone I've ever seen."

The guy in the back said. The man had short blonde hair was tall at 6 foot 3 inches.

    "Stubborn.....that's exactly what he was Ryuukio. We should go. The others are waiting on us. Akari, Itazuki. I'm sorry, I failed everyone as a leader. This isn't what Ashido would have wanted. He hated funerals. Where is Akari? I thought she'd want to be here." Sendo asked the small group.

      "Akari just wanted to be alone, she will say goodbye to him later. She didn't take the news too well. She loved him, I can't even imagine what she's going through. I swear Sendo you better not put me through this. You hear me!" Yuki grabbed Sendo by the shirt and hit him once in the chest and cried.

      "I won't, I promise you that Yuki. I love you, more than anything." Sendo kissed her forehead and looked up at a hooded figure in a tree. The figure turned around and left.

     "Hang on guys." Sendo let Yuki go and bolted towards the figure.

"Who are you!?" Sendo yelled, he felt the breeze run through his short spiked hair. He looked ahead and saw the figure stopped.

"You don't need to know who I am. All that you need to know is that this threat is happening soon. Put your friends death aside and focus, save the world Sendo. Your team and the universe depends on you. You have too much weight on your shoulders already." The figure said and walked away.

"How do you kno-." Before he could finish the figure vanished and was left alone. "Sendo, are you okay?!" He heard Ryuukio and Yuki yelling for him. "Yeah, just saw a ghost." Sendo walked towards them.

"I'm fine I promise, let's go. Kari and the rest are back at base." Sendo faked a smile that Yuki immediately saw through.

    "You're a terrible liar Sendo. But we do need to check on a few things. We had a hit on Phantom but like his name suggests he's gone ghost." Yuki explained.

"Always working." Sendo smirked. "Let's go, maybe Itazuki has something." Sendo and the group headed away, before the grave was out if sight. Sendo turned around.

"Ashido, we will avenge you. Your death will not be in vain. You're my brother and I will personally end this war. This is a promise." Sendo thought to himself as he turned around and walked away.

      Back in town the wind shifted, had a bit more anger to it. A young lady sat on a watertower that bared the name of the city they were located at like a neon sign. A shortish man with short blonde hair climbed up the only ladder and approached the woman

     "Hey kari, you feeling okay?" The man asked as he sat next to her.

"I guess I'm still processing everything Itazuki, we used to come up here a lot after this all happened. And talk about simpler times. I just can't believe he's gone. Ashido was so damn stubborn, I just expected him to tell the grim reaper to piss off or.something you know. I'm sorry, I don't mean to talk your ear off" Akari laid back.

    "Come on Kari, you know I'm always here for you. Just like we all are. You loved him. That's not easy to go through. We've all lost someone to these, things." Itazuki smiled and patted her shoulder. "You're tougher than all of us Akari, maybe that's why Ashido loved you too." Kazuki looked up at the stars.

    "He's a hero Kari. We will end this. I promise you that." Kari looked Kazuki and smiled.

   
"The last guy that promised me something, well died in an explosion. But if it were me. He'd press forward and I need to do the same. Let's go home, Sendo and them should be back." Akari smiled again.
