Another day full of errands.
Her Diamond is sitting there again, screen spanned out before her in reports from different gems. A Jasper, Facet 4G6E, Cut 0RU, reports of a making of new clusters. In fact, thousands of gems have been finding new planets every day, reporting them back to Homeworld.
She knows it is tiring for Blue Diamond. It always has been, flipping through new screens and files and sighing under her breath softly, a small evoke of emotion she would get from her master time and time again.
Pink Diamond is gone. Lost, in shards and pieces. Blue Diamond has never seemed to actually move on, always lingering on the past like a mourning ghost.
Before, Blue Diamond was much more...energetic, as Blue Pearl would suppose. By the time the shattering had happened, strips and shreds of her former Diamond had been exposed to nothing but a crying mess. Blue Pearl couldn't do anything about it, recalling the memory with a small hint of guilt. No one could.
"My Diamond,"
Blue Diamond turns around, her eyes piercing but tired.
"Can I ask of a request?"
"What is it, Pearl?"
"Let me sing for you. I see that you are tired. Rest for a while."
This got a reaction from Blue Diamond, who seemingly looked calm but now her cool and collected facade had faded into shock, surprise, and then acceptance.
Her Diamond makes a gesture with her hands, and all the screens surrounding her flickers into nothingness. The light illuminating the room is gone, now replaced by the threads of white streaming from the stars above.
"Sure. Why not."
She sings, and her hands are still clasped, her mouth open, her throat cleared with the echo of melodies drifting through the air.
Blue Diamond relaxes a little. Her shoulders sags down, and her eyes are closed, her hands open on her lap. Blue Pearl sings some more, thinking about how it feels like to be free, to do anything you wanted, rebelling against every order.
When she finishes, Blue Diamond nods, and Blue Pearl returns to her original place, her hands still clasped.
Her fingers are sore.
Her Diamond goes back to work.
It's going to be a long day today.
