Of course. The Muggle grabbed Newt's case instead of his own. Miss Goldstein took our arms again and led us out back to the street.

"I cannot believe you didn't obliviate that man! If there's an inquiry I'm finished!" I understood why.

"Why would you be finished? I'm the one who's..."  Newt somehow didn't put the pieces together.

"I'm not supposed to go near Second Salemers!" I realised that it wasn't so surprising that he didn't realise it. My 'gift' might have made me realise, or my not gift to understand people a bit better. Doesn't mean I like them; I just understand them.

We reached a crowd, and there were angry shouts.

"It's a gas explosion again!"

"There ain't no smell of gas."

"It weren't gas officer! I'd seen it it wassa huge hippo..Gas. it was gas!" Judging by his slurred speech, he was very much drunk. I looked at Newt, and noticed the end of his wand.

Really?

Hey, she's already tried to bit our heads off-

You're head off.

Whatever. He was talking about the erumpent. You know what that means?

Oh no.

Exactly.

We saw the building where the 'gas explosion' happened. I waved to Newt, and we ran up the stairs.

We reached the apartment where the hole was. The case was open, and the Muggle from earlier was on the floor. Newt went to look at him, and I started repairing the wall without the Muggles noticing.

"Mr. Scamander! Ms. Scamander!"  We heard Miss Goldstein's shouts and footsteps on the stairs. We both peered in the case, and Newt closed and latched it, just as she came in.

"It was open?" She looked panicked. Chill.

"Just a smidge..." Newt said. His mind obviously elsewhere.

"That crazy niffler thing is on the loose again?"

"Erm, it might be."

"Probably is." I said.

Not helping, Lily. Not helping.

"Then look for it! Look!"  Then she noticed the Muggle on the floor. "His necks bleeding. He's hurt. He looks ill! Oh, wake up, Mr. No-maj!"

"He'll be fine. Murtlap bites aren't serious." The Muggle retched in the corner. "I'll admit that is a slightly more severe reaction he'd..." Newt trailed off, not wanting to cause worry.

"He'd what?"

Before Newt could answer, I cut him off. " Well, the first symptom would be flames out of his arse, and that would already have happened. And anyways, I have stuff in my potions and plants bag to fix it.."

"It'll last 48 hours, at most. We could keep him if you'd-"

"Keep him? Keep him? Mr. And Ms. Scamander, do you know, anything about the wizarding community in America?"

"I do know a few things actually. I know you have rather backwards laws about relations with non-magic people. You can befriend them you can marry them, which seems mildly absurd to me..."

"Whose going to marry him?" He gave her a look. She rolled her eyes and bent down to help him. "Come on Mr.-"

"Kowalski. Jacob."

She looked at Newt, as I had the case in my hand. "Help me!"

"I never went to the bank. This is all some big nightmare, right?" He said, mostly to himself. I felt bad. It was mostly our fault.

"For the both of us, Mr. Kowalski." Was her reply.

A/N: hurray!! Sorry there was no update from my other book, but it wasn't done. At all. Meaning I had to clean. It'll happen this week though! Now, if you haven't realised, I am only focusing on how Newt and Lily see things. So I might do Tina, Queenie, or Newt's POV, but no Graves's or Credence. Now, I want to know what you think her powers are!! I did make them up, so one will be close to legimency, but with some major differences. So, should I do a sequel to this? Yes, no, or let's wait?
