Chapter 8: Assigned Task

Weeks have passed by and the election was successfully done. Most of the candidates from Nicole's party lost won. She won as president, I won as vice president, and Riri won as secretary but unfortunately Robert didn't won. He lost by 12 votes. Edward Mendez won as treasurer.

Still, we are all proud of ourselves. Mostly Nicole, I can tell she's really dedicated and passionate to be the student body president. She has good platforms and hopefully the faculty will approve them all.

Riri otherwise became distant. She doesn't ask a ride home from me anymore which I kinda miss. Although Nicole has been giving me attention which I like. We've been hanging out for a while. Sometimes with Robert.  I can tell that Robert and her are just really best friends. Robert has been flirting with Jane and he seems really into her. Jane otherwise doesn't care about Robert's existence. That's harsh but possibly true. Nicole has been really supportive of Robert, even Robert doesn't really have a chance with Jane, she still gives him support.

But the real question is: Am I good enough for Nicole? Or is Nicole good enough for me?

I'm waiting at the student council office for the others to come. We have a meeting in about 10 minutes and I'm the only one here. Probably because I'm so thrilled to see Nicole but I don't think she feels the same way.

"What's up geeks?!!!" Noel made a dramatic entrance. "Or should I say geek" he changed his sentence and sat down. "What're you doin here?" I asked him. "Nicole asked me to come or should I say pleaded me to come" he shrugged. "Why?" My blood started to boil. He just shrugged his shoulders.

The door opened and Riri entered. She was surprised to see me and Noel but she still let out a smile.

"Hey, noey!" She kissed Noel on the cheek then turned to me. "Hi Zeke." I smiled softly. "Hi cutie." A blush crept out of her cheeks.

Someone kicked me under the table. I looked up and saw Noel glaring at me.
"What did you do to Riri?!" He screamed at me. "Nothing!" Riri answered. Noel and I turned to look at her. "Seriously, I'm fine. I'm just not really looking forward om being here that's all." She forced out a smile.

"I don't believe the I'm fine part but I can tell you're telling the truth about the last one." Noel stated. Riri didn't bother to speak, she just pouted.

Noel suddenly bit his lip then he called out Riri. "If you weren't a really good friend of mine. I've already bang-" I didn't let him finish. I hit his head.

"Ow! What?!" He got furious. I was about to scream at him but a gorgeous girl entered the room.

"Hey guys! Sorry we're late." She apologized then sit next to Noel. Why? There's a free seat next to me?

Nicole's with Edward and the others. They all sat with each other. Nicole smiled at us and we all smiled to due to her contagious smile, well most of us. Noel sat there having a bored expression on his face while Riri is just looking down and playing with her fingers.

"Are you guys assuming why Noel is here." She started. All of us nodded except for Riri.

"Yeah why you asked this doof to be here?" I asked her jokingly. She giggled. "Well from the previous basketball game he won the title of MVP and he is one of the most hottest guys in school. We are also starting to do the student's paper so I'm guessing we could interview Noel to make the paper interesting." She explained.

The others were in favor of the idea even Rihanna while I'm here killing Noel in my mind. Yeah he is the MVP but I'm also the best player. Well MVP is better but still!

"Oh! That's cool!" Noel was grinning widely. "More publicity for me!" His smile didn't leave his face.

"We're glad to have you here." Nicole said to him. I'm not. I thought. "So are the journalists will have to interview him?" Edward asked Nicole.

"I was thinking about that but they are already doing stuff I assigned them to. So I'm planning to assign it to Rihanna." She said.

She looked at Riri. "Would that be okay with you besides you're friends with him so you guys will get along?" Nicole asked for confirmation.

"Sure!" Riri answered excitingly. "It's settled then." Nicole clapped her hands.

"Can we do it tomorrow Riri?" Noel asked Riri gently. "Of course. Can we do it at my place?" She asked him. "Sure." Noel agreed.

After the meeting, everyone left besides Nicole and I. Nicole's still organizing some stuff and I'm here waiting for her.
She noticed me still here and waiting for her. "Not going home yet?" She asked me.

"I'll wait for you." I told her and she nodded then smiled.

We were walking outside the school and I gathered up a courage to ask her to hang out tomorrow.

"Are you free tomorrow? We could do something fun together." I asked her.

"Sure! Let's grab a coffee tomorrow morning amd we could talk?" She suggested. "Anything that suits your liking"
