A/N: here is the the story that brought on my hiatus, it's just the first chapter because it's still not done yet, but I wanted to post SOMETHING for you guys. I hope you like it.

Ashleigh usually loved concerts. She loved the energy of the crowd and the musicians and the camaraderie that normally existed between the two. Music would play and everyone would dance together or sing along having a good time. But this concert was nothing like that. She was at a Pentatonix concert and everyone here was acting crazy. Years ago it would have been just like Ashleigh loved, and it had been the first time she'd come to see them preform but that was 5 years and many tours ago.

Tonight was the final night of the current tour, it was a throwback tour and Pentatonix was going to venues they'd traveled to during their first two tours. Tickets were more expensive this time around and, because of the fame that had come over the past five years, had sold out quickly after the tour was announced. Ashleigh had been prepared and ordered her two tickets the day they'd gone on sale and securing them for her and her friend Cora. At this thought Ashleigh looked over at her friend.

Cora was currently looking around at everything, oblivious to the people filling in around the two girls and her face was a passive mask as always. The room they were in was getting hot as more and more bodies filled the room and crammed into the small space. Both Ashleigh and Cora were constantly being jostled by strangers fighting to get as close as they could. The girls each had a hand gripped tightly to the railing and though Ashleigh was getting perturbed by the fans around her who seemed to have no common courtesy, Cora ignored them. This was a trait Ashleigh envied immensely because her emotions always reigned and she was never able to push them aside whereas Cora always looked and acted as if she couldn't care less.

The two of them were standing against the fence barrier put up 4 feet from the stage. They hadn't gotten VIP tickets, those were to the point of ridiculously expensive, but they had been the first two in the general admission line and had both basically run into the venue when they'd been let in. It had been a mad dash, and when they'd approached the barrier she and Cora had skidded to a stop nearly falling on their faces. This had earned them some dirty looks from the VIP ticket holders. Despite the people from the back of the line filling in and surging the crowd forward, Cora and Ashleigh both still held their spots at the front.

When Pentatonix came on stage the crowd went wild and surged forward again, this time pressing Cora and Ashleigh against the fence. Ashleigh glanced at Cora and saw her lips quirk up at the corners which as much happiness as Ashleigh had ever seen on her friend's face. How could you not be smiling though when Pentatonix was right in front of you? The girls were just left of center stage, between where Avi always placed himself and Scott who was smack in the middle.

Kevin ran toward the front of the stage and reached to the crowd, Cora and Ashleigh both held their hands up with the rest of the crowd, grazing finger tips with the beat boxer. A few girls around them squealed in a pitch that hurt Ashleigh's ears but she smiled despite the impulse to cringe and Kevin flashed his bright white teeth back. At that moment Scott started to speak and when Ashleigh's eyes went to him they were glued there for the rest of the night.

The concert was crazy. All night Ashleigh was pushed against the barrier that separated the crowd from Pentatonix. With that and the, what was likely hundred degree heat, she was pissed and ready to leave the second Pentatonix cleared the stage. As the group stepped off the stage the entire crowd seemed to take a step back all together and the constant pressure of fans at Ashleigh's back dissipated. She knew it would return soon as there hadn't been an encore yet but allowed herself the chance to breathe and calm her temper before she started screaming at the idiots around her. She inhaled deeply and felt a hand rest on her back. Looking to her right she saw Cora looking at her concerned, silent but obviously wanting to make sure if Ashleigh was okay. Ashleigh waved her hand to dismiss her friends concern and started to smile when an elbow smacked hard into the back of her head.
