You're 10, you've just met Eleanor. You'll never forget that moment. The cliched sparkling blue eyes, Golden brown hair, Pink rosebub lips. The curve of her smile and the way that her nose wrinkles when she smiles. The innocence of her face, and the way she make your heart swells up when she says your name. her cute obsessions with ducks, her teeth that are pearly white. The way that her pinkie fits perfectly into her, and that feeling of never wanting to let her go. That feeling of LOVE..

you're 14 and you're bestfriends. You do everything together. You share your first kiss, you laugh, you cry, you sing, you dance. You fix her when she's broken, and she fixes you. She hugs you when you're feeling down, and you make her laugh by making impressions of your grumpy old evil teacher. You're there when she wins a national dance competition, and she's there when you got into an accident. You join the dance club together, holding hand and hugging just you and her.

You're 21 and it's love. it's you and her together against the world. you make love for the first time, crying softly and looking into each other's eyes. You held her that night, never letting go, lost in each other. that's when you know; know it's you and her and there's no one to stop you. And then she's GONE. A fleeting memory of soft pink lips and sweet smilling hair, another scar on your heart. You break down, crying broken tears, your heart shattered into a million broken pieces. You look up and she's there. Just as you remember her smiling, laughing, and dancing. Everything that is good in this miserable stinking world.
"MI AMOR" [my love] your breath, reaching out to her. she shakes her head, stepping back with a sad smile on her face.
"Don't forget me Oliver." she says, a little wistfully.
"NEVER." you keep your eyes focused on her, never blinking. you step forward again, ignoring her feeble warnings. your lips touch her's softly but they don't. you can still smell her candy chapstick, her sweet perfume. She smiles again, exactly how she was before it all happened.
"i'll see you on the other side oliver. Someday I promise." she says softly. another part of you, break inside. but deep down, you know it's true. .
.
.
.
"sure." you smile fighting down the strangled sobs that are rising in your throat. and then she's GONE!

FOOTNOTE:
every life is a LOVE STORY, but few of us know what love is until the story is nearly over. Cherish the one you love. Do not wait until they are gone to realize how important they are in your life.
