I Secrets & Love

Buzz buzz, my alarm goes off, it's 6:30am and today I'm job hunting. I left school 2 years ago and walked straight into an office job, but on Wednesday I was sacked. My mum still doesn't know. I leave my bedroom and wander to the bathroom, still rubbing my eyes I lock the door and start to have a wash. 'What will I say to her, what if she finds out I've lost my job'. Every scenario runs through my mind.

I go to my room and chuck on the nearest pair of blue jeans and find a clean white top from my washing pile. Running down stairs I smell that mums cooked breakfast, It smelt like her well known fry up. "As you've got the day of hunny, I thought we could go for some dinner and have a catch up" she said to me. "Yes mum but I have some things to do first". I rushed my breakfast and scarpered out the door.

I reached the old library that's up the top of old bailey road, and my friend Chloe was there.

"Hi Chloe, i Havent seen you in a while been up to much?' She didnt answer just a smile. ''I'm job hunting today and my mum has no idea, I need help please say you can help!"

"Hi babe! I can't help I'm just visiting, dropping some books off and I've got to go to work, sorry" she replies. Ok so now I'm back to square one. I sit at the computer flicking through websites that for some reason do not make sense to me. At this point I will never find a job. By now Chloe had left the library and she never even said bye to me. My phone starts buzzing in my pocket, I look at the screen and the name says 'unknown'.

I answer.

"Hello"

"The parcel will be there tomorrow" the voice replied. And the phone went dead.

'Parcel?''who''what''where''when'.

The voice I heard keeps repeating in my head. I panic I have no idea who I should contact, or what I should do. I'm meant to be at work,what will I explain to my mum. I text my best friend Billy and told him to meet me ASAP. He replied and said he would be there at 1. I made my way over to a little coffee shop we met in and I sat and waited. The walls in this place were covered in a dark brown wallpaper, wooden tables and wooden chairs surrounded me as I waited. Minutes past and he turned up. Blue jeans, black shirt and white trainers. My perfect man. Before I could say anything he wrapped his arms around me and kissed my cheek. I dazed at him, watching his every move. "Help me billy, I had a phone call, someone's dropping a parcel off and I have no idea what I'm going to do, I've lost my job, my life's going-" and before I finished my sentence, he stopped me. "Shhh" he said, "one thing at a time babe".

Babe, he called me babe. We sat and spoke for an hour about everything, it's been months since we really last spoke to each other. Billy seemed to have disappeared off the radar when we left school, but we always managed to start our conversation were we had left off the last time.

"Come back to mine, let's talk properly". He held his hand out to me, so I grabbed it, and I followed every step he made. We walked outside and up to his car, he opened the door and watched me sit down. He walked around the front of his Audi and sat in the drivers seat. My phone rings. I left it to go through to the voicemail. It's only my mum.

Billy smiled at me and started the car. We started driving to his house, we both sat in silence,then my mum rang my phone again. I missed it.

We pulled up in his drive way, a new built house, with a perfect garden, a fence surrounding. It took my breath away.

Billy had changed, he was more grown up. He opened my door and took my hand. Something just felt so normal. He unlocked his front door and we entered. I walked into his living room, ornaments and statues filled the room. It was decorated nicely, cream walls, beige carpet. Billy said to me "make yourself at home", so I did and I sat down on the black leather corner sofa, that filled the whole back wall. This sofa was made to sit about 10 people, I loved it, as I looked round he disappeared. 5 minutes later he returned two drinks in hand and a smile on his face. My phone rang again so I just turned it off.
