When God created Earth, some of his Angels had become jealous and conspired against him. He banished them into the Demonic plane of Hell. He sent Lucifer to keep these Angels and anyone who would join them at bay.
Centuries later Hell had become full and Demons were able to escape after Lucifer was overpowered. God had sent his Angel Warriors to fight off the Demons. The Angels started to get overpowered by the shear number of Demons. This is when God gave a large amount of faithful Humans the powers of Angels. They had wings, powers, and other abilities just like the Angels. These Humans were called the Heroes of Zephyr. The war between the Demons, Angels, and Heroes of Zephyr raged on for decades upon decades.
Lucifer had also faught against the Demons. A couple of years after the War started, Lucifer and a female Hero fell in love. They had a child who they named Erik Darhk. The woman, who's name is still unknown, and the child stayed under the protection of Angels while Lucifer fought the demons. The woman eventually was killed while protecting Erik when he was still an infant. Lucifer then took care of the child from there.
Then, in a year before time could be recorded, the War stopped. Thousands of Humans and Angels had been killed. The Demons were all wiped out. When the dust of the last battle cleared, a single figure could be seen in the midst holding a black sword. The figure had a 12 ft wingspan and glowing green eyes. Around him lay the mangled bodies of thousands upon thousands of Demons. It was Erik Darhk that defeated the last horde of Demons, and it will be him that will keep destroying them.
It is now present day, and the darkness is getting stronger. Demons are crowding Hell and Lucifer has been killed. There is no one to keep the Demons in check, and they're starting to slowly break through the Gates of Hell. With the modern day Apocalypse approaching fast, Erik has been sent to Earth by God to gather the Descendants of Zephyr. Erik has been training for eons since the last war, and is prepared for anything that could be thrown at him.
That's what he believes at least.
