Millie's POV

I grabbed my pink backpack. It was small but big enough to hold my books. I didn't like big bulky backpacks and I might never will.

I stop in front of my mirror before heading out the door. I low key liked my outfit today. I was wearing a pink sweatshirt over black ripped jeans. I had a white and pink bomber jacket with birds embroidered on it.  I glanced down at my shoes, they were regular white Adidas Superstars that I didn't try to keep clean.

I took a deep breath and hoped that today was going to be a good day. I felt a terrible feeling in my gut and I didn't know what it was.

I opened my door and before I knew it I broke down at the top of the stairs.

I had a terrible terrible feeling. It was raging and it terrified me. I didn't know what it was. How do I stop? How do I make it stop?!?

I slowly stood up and walked down the stairs. All my hunger vanished and was replaced with a sick feeling in my stomach. I got a bottle of orange juice in the fridge and left the house.

When I got to school I immediately noticed the commotion. Everyone was scattered around and talking in their group. I wanted to know what was the panic and why was everyone so gossipy today.

I finally saw Lacey and Maddie come into view. They were huddled together on the bench and they looked like they were whispering.

"Hey, wh-" I started but was cut off by Lacey,"There's a new kid. And he's already made a lot of friends." I gave her a confused look on why was she so concerned about this guy.

"I mean a lot. He's already best buds with the Pops. Can you imagine that? He just met them like 20 minutes ago and now they brought him in so fast." Lacey told me.

"Maybe he already knows them." I shrugged. It could be a possibility. You can't be friends with the Pops even if you're nice to them. They will simply ignore you and walk off talking about themselves.

"Well he sure is a lucky guy." Maddie chirped up. She was eating some yogurt.

"Where is he anyways? Why is he so important?" I rolled my eyes.

Lacey and Maddie stood up and pulled me to a crowd forming at the schools doors.

Even from a distance I could see Jack's brown hair and his blue beanie he wore almost everyday.

We finally made our way to the crowd. The Pops were gathered around a boy that had his back to me. He was wearing a snapback with the TØP symbol on it. Wow, he likes Twenty One Pilots.

That's weird. I only knew one person in my life that was as addicted to Twenty One Pilots but he's long gone.

Well at least I hoped so.

We finally made our way to the core of the crowd where all the Pops made a circle around the new boy. His hair was really dark but you could tell it was brown.

He was talking to Jaeden and laughing at a joke he said. Come on show your face, I thought to myself. I really wanted to see who he was and why everyone cared about him.

He turned around and I felt pain shoot up my body and to my heart. He was here. He was here in front of my eyes. He was smiling like he was the happiest boy on earth.

His brown eyes made contact with mine and I simply lost it. He was here. The Boy Across The Room was here.

I want to update as much as I can. Love you all💜
