{EDWARD}

My phone buzzes for the third time tonight, so I finally answer. "What do you want, Alice?" She sighs at the other end, clearly impatient. "Get your ass back into town, Edward. Bella needs you. We need you, and-" she pauses, comprehending "Don't you dare roll your eyes at me!" Oops. I didn't even realize I was rolling my eyes. Why would Alice call anyway? Unless... "Is Bella hurt?"

She is silent, for a moment before answering. "What do you think, Edward? Her future is very... Scrambled. And believe me, not in a good way. Edward- if you don't come home she might get into a very bad fight with a very bad man. And that man... Is Victoria's new lover."

Alice hung up.

I'm going home.

{BELLA}

Mike is funny, I'll admit to that. I've spilt my soda twice now from laughing so hard. But I have to remember why I'm here. "Mike I need to talk to you." He smiles at me, almost dazzling me. What killed it is he's been staring at my boobs the entire night. But the way I see it, he's more of a buddy. "I think we should just be friends." I blurted. Oops. I didn't mean to make it sound so... Harsh. But Mike wasn't even listening. He's still staring at my boobs. That draws the line. I stand up, agitated, and walk over to him to the point were I'm really close to his face. I lift his face up, forcing his eyes onto mine. Mike, apparently turned on, leans in. Before I can think clear, I smack him. "What the hell?!" He yells at me. "You know, Bella, tonight I though we could get somewhere. But now that you assaulted me... I'll have to rethink that." I bet that pervert thought I would get on my knees and beg for forgiveness. I'm tempted to slap him again.

"Well, Mike that's perfectly fine. If you had been paying attention earlier and not staring at my breasts, maybe you would know I just want to be friends." I fold my arms over my chest as Mike's mouth drops to the floor. "But you should ask Jessica out. I know she really wants to date you." Before Mike can try to make a move on me, I start to walk out. But before I reach the door, someone grabs my ass. "Hey sugar, want some sugar?" Some strange man practically demands. Before I can even start to escape, someone large grabs his shoulder and pulls him outside. A warm figure stands next to me, wrapping his hand around my waist. I start to pull away, but then I realize who is holding me. Jacob.

~~

"Jacob!" I practically yell, leaping into a hug. His rough laugh fills my ears as he returns the hug. Jake has been distant ever since I found out he was a wolf. He thought he was too dangerous, which is ridiculous. I release him, suddenly grateful for him being here. I look over at the man who pulled the creep outside, and realized its Sam. I was about to hug him, when my phone shrieks in my pocket. "Hello?" I ask, pulling it out of my pocket.

"He's coming home, Bella. Don't do anything that will keep him there. I just saw him getting on a plane. Go. Home." Alice hung up the phone, and I simply stand there. A happy smile creeps onto my face, but then I realize Jake is asking me a question.

"Huh?"

"I said who's coming home?" Jake wonders out loud. "Oh. It's Edward, isn't it?" He says, answering his own question. "It was really great seeing ya, Bells. Unfortunately, we have to go." Jake hugs me again, and I frown while in his arms as I realize I have to walk home.

"Lets go, Bella." Mike practically yells in my ear. Jake releases me, and stares at Mike unhappily. "Lets go," he demands practically assaulting me while forcing my waist through the door. "Geez. What was up with that Jacob dude?"

"That Jacob dude, happens to be my best friend." I say defensively, forcing my feet to a stop. Mike trips, turning around to face me.

"You can't be serious, right? He's like... An obsessive dog or something." I couldn't help it. I burst out laughing, because he has no idea what he just said.

Jake walks next to me, roars from laughing so much. He apparently heard it too. "C'mon Bells," he says in between laughs, "I'll drive you to Charlie's" I giggle as he helps me onto his motorcycle. He must have seen me driving with Mike, rolling my eyes or something. He never drives his motorcycle anymore, only when he has too. Today might be the best day of my life.
